Where can I get painite?

I just want this gods damned engineer unlocked but I just can't stand mining and I have no idea where to find this crap and since we can't buy it it makes this even more annoying, why did they put the armor engineering behind the bloody mining crap? I don't like mining yet I'm forced to do this crap to get what I really want.

Well no it's from mining, you're completely useless on information, I don't know why you even replied. I didn't think you could even buy painite.

Well no poopoo it's from mining, you're completely useless on information

Factabulous is many things but this is not one of them.

What system are you in?
Surely it can't be that difficult to fly around for half an hour, bunging probes at ring-systems, until you find a Painite hotspot?

Tell me what system you're in and I'll go and find you a Painite hotspot.... unless you're in Colonia, in which case you're on your own. :p

That's very lazy. Why not identify the hotspot and mine the painite for him? :giggle:

10T Painite is not bad to laser mine - as long as you remember while doing the 500T mining that the engineer asks for beforehand. Bromellite OTOH...
True, Painite was manageable and came with lots of other valuable ores. With Bromellite, well lets just say I really like PAs so it was worth it in the end.

Anyway, it's really easy to get in any Painite Hotspot that sits inside a Pristine Metallic Ring.... Lots of it.

Hyades Sector DB-X D1-112

Use a scanner probe the rings you'll find a double painite hotspot.

Thank me later

See, THIS is a HELPFUL response not meme rubbish and pointless posts, THANK YOU. Another question, is it laser mining or can i use my abrasion and ssd?

And I hate combat but they put some of the engineer unlocks I would like behind a combat wall, funny that. I would like to engineer my sensors to G5 lightweight to increase jump range but guess what, needs combat bonds, not going to happen so I make do with G3 and make te best I can with what I have got.

I’m passing through Eravate on my way home, if you wanna meet there.

I’ve got a hold full of plasma cough I mean painite, if you needed some for Selene Jean.

You still need 500 tonnes mined for that unlock. The best way to get Painite as well is to do this mining in the pristine metal belts. I used my combat specced cutter where I installed two mining lasers and prospector/collector limpet controllers. With this setup it is fairly relaxing. You just push the fire button facing a roid until it runs out of ore while your collectors scoop it. Engineered distributor helps a lot.

I haven't done any deep core, but that may be also an option.

Laser mining is generally the most efficient way to get it - provided you're in a metallic (not metal-rich) ring, and ideally a Painite hotspot within that. You might find a bit with abrasion+ssd but I wouldn't rely on that.

As hinted above, Petra Olmanova also provides the armour and HRP blueprints at G5 (as well as some other useful stuff) with no mining required at all ... but unless you intend to relocate to Colonia, that's a lot of flying and transfers to get it done. But if you really hate mining, it's an alternative.
