Hi, I'm new to ED. I read the FAQ etc. but one thing is not clear to me. If I turn in the data to the CG will I be paid for it or will I be able to sell the detailed scans and mapping data separately? I have a rusty Adder and 50M worth of data so I definitely need the credits.
I've submitted 181 reports over the past three days. Do these types of CGs always go this slow? We're hardly off tier 1. I'm in the top 25%. I thought I'd be in the top 75% with only that number of systems scanned.

So like I said, planetary outpost. Text only mentions Nahuaru, and there are no landables. So which planet do you expect the base on - when none are landable?
I'm just curious where people think it should be as I'd like to chase it up more actively, but the first question I expect is this one - where should it be?
Heh, yes, I checked all 11 planets in the system and all have atmosphere, so a planetary outpost cant be built until new "atmospheric landing" content. But why that goal given by the devs then? One solution maybe a new - not planetary - science outpost. But its opposes the announce. Or better is a "Holloway Bioscience Institute" Installation somewhere in the system.
woah this feels like futility I've done 400 systems now.. I think Frontier totally underestimated the time to scan out systems and distances involved .. they should have done this not in system submissions but on the 'value' of the submitted systems .. that would have worked way better. I've earn't over 100million on exploration data alone..
The problem with Exploration CGs is how can you judge if you need to adjust the tiers and by how much, in a hauling CG if you get a 1000 contributors by the end of the first day you can be reasonably sure most of them will be delivering the same amount every day the CG runs and you will get more people over the weekend so it is fairly easy to tell if things need serious adjusting.
So far in this exploration CG over three and a half thousand people have contributed something, but almost all of those will only contribute once and some commanders probably wont contribute anything until later tonight or tomorrow morning.
Personally I think they have got the tiers wrong but unlike all the rest of the non competitive CGs it is hard to be sure.
No honking even required...
Jump in. scan the star your next to while FSD is in cool down, jump out too next system =1 report...
you are limited by the FSD cool down and the jump charge up time, and the loading screen for the next system...
When I was able to stay focused. I could do 11 jumps per 10mins = 66 per hour.. but that gets to boring ... I would do 25 jumps out and then 25 jumps back...
Then watch a new Youtube video... do another 25 jumps out then 25 jumps back then turn the game of and play the PS+ free title instead..
When the thargoid turned up and pulled me out of hyper space. I went to see how hard getting meta alloys realy is...
After spending at least 30 hours of exploring systems for this initiative it was disheartening to just chance upon this thread and find out I had to have signed up first. Still learning there is as much to ED buried in these forums as there is in the game (maybe more).
