Synthetize oxygen while emergency supply is active

Hi guys,
Do you know if it is possible to refill oxygen while, for example, you have a broken canopy and the emergency oxygen is being used? Or has it to be replenished beforehand?
I ask because some systems shut down when doing these kind of things and, although I can hold my breath, I don't wanna die performing a test, just in case.

Caution. There might be motivation to use up all your air before synthesizing. This synthesis takes longer than y might expect. It’s been a while since I did it. If memory serves, it takes roughly 20 seconds. After a previous bad experience where I died due to waiting till nearly out of air before synthesizing and subsequently ran out before synthesis completed, I have learned that you are safe if you initiate synthesis with 30 seconds left.

Gr5 light mode is now available,difference in weight among A lightmode g5 and its D couterpart is very very small...just saying...

Yep, do not wait until the last minute. I had a white dwarf mishap in a Beluga once and had to make 11 jumps with a shattered canopy and 4 synths along the way, including one in front of the station I would dock at for repair. These take a minute when seconds count!

Plan ahead, don’t wind up dead.

Yep...
But it takes a little time for the synthesis to complete. My practice is to start the synthesis two minutes before the ship's O2 is gonna run out.
