Yeah, more cargo kinda highlights the additional internals, does it not? Doesn’t change the fact that it’s a meh upgrade when other lower tier ships easily outclass it.
Vs a Cobra III:
Lower jump range
Awful maneuverability
Considerably slower
In combat, it’s inferior to the Cobra III.
In exploration, it’s at best, equal to the Cobra III, sacrificing range for maybe an extra gadget.
Trading or mining is the only thing it’s truly better at, simply because of the additional cargo you can carry. What else are you going to do with those internal slots to make it better than a Cobra III? Put more defenses in them so you can face tank NPCs harder, instead of easily outmaneuveing them?
Maybe if they buffed it a little, I’d understand.
As someone who has access to a Cobra IV, I can promise you that you aren’t missing much.
By the time you get into a Cobra III, you’re already beyond the point where the IV would be a logical stepping stone. This is especially true these days, since credits are so easy to come by anymore.
