Triple the distro draw of healing beams

Right now healing beams are a little too powerful in pvp. A single huge hardpoint can nullify the dps output of an entire ship in my experience, and it just gets worse the more hardpoints the healer has. What I propose to fix this is to make the regeneration sequence mod triple the distro draw of any beam it is on. With this change, healing would still be very powerful from a tactical sense, allowing the user to essentially sacrifice all of their firepower temporarily to prolong a wingmates life long enough for them to escape of finish off a target, but it would not allow tow whips to make eachother invulnerable by spamming heal beams at eachother, as even a corvette would struggle to fire an efficient huge heal beam for long. It would also make healing an actual sacrifice, as you won't be getting much offensively out of a beam with 3x distro draw.

I feel like this suggestion would bring healing down to a manageable level and make it overall much more of an interesting mechanic and less of an "I win unless you have torps" mechanic.
 
No, they already reduced their effectiveness 95% in a previous nerf.
Also trippling distro draw would cause overheating because of how capacitor heat works.
 
Make it shield transfer rather than a direct regen and it'd be fine. You could still have a dedicated healer with a gigantic shield and a ton of banks, or all pitch in to help the one guy that's being focused from losing his shield before his bank finishes, but you wouldn't be able to form the circle-of-healing and become invulnerable.
 
I would be fine with that. Just something to make it so that you can't form an infinite healing circle.
 
I'd make it so that it doesn't work if you are also taking damage from other source while you are getting healed.
 
Is the regen amount buffed when firing at a wing mate?
For example a huge efficient regen beam does 46.2 damage / second if coriolis is correct, is the healed damage the same? Or is it buffed?

I agree the regen rate should ne nerfed, it's too high.
I'm not convinced direct transfer is useful, but a higher distro draw with all the accompanying drawbacks would be nice (perhaps x2 is enough?)

From what I heard its 3x, which is why I suggested what I did.
 
Or just make the healing beam heal as much as it would deal damage with all factors such as damage falloff, damage reductions, thermal and pip resistance, etc
