Animal Ranks

Now that herd leaders/Alpha's have been confirmed, I was wondering if there would be other animal ranks for atleast a few, if not all of the animals. Like how a pack of wolves has it's "Beta" which takes charge when the alpha is not around. Or a "Lone" Wolf, which is a wolf with solitary preferences.

If there are (For atleast the wolves) I hope it wouldn't be like Jurassic World Evolution where the Alpha changes when the Alpha strays to far from the herd.

Don't fall in love with the whole "Alpha Wolve" thing too much. There is not such a rank in nature. All there is, are parents and children.

The whole theory of "Alpha Wolves" was debunked for quite a while now ... including by a behavioural scientist (David Mech) who supported it initially and made it commonly known in the first place.

Read HERE for more information.

Well atleast for the other animals. Not just the Wolves.

I may be wrong but I believe that its more due to dominance between the males - the most dominant is alpha.
I just read that part in one of the dev diaries saying that exactly. So maybe animal ranking will be based off of the rivalry between the males. Well, so far, only the devs know the answer to this question. Hopefully they answer.

Arent animals that live in packs have such a strong bonding that this hardly happens.

I know lions are also rarely challenged from inside the pack, but more frequently it happens because a male lion from outside the pack wants to take command.

I guess this is something that could happen in the game if you introduce a new animal into a longer existing pack.

Im interested into learning more about this. 👍
