I doubt I'll be able to afford one tbh. I'm not one of the rich guys and I don't like most of the high paying activities like void opel mining. I'm just a modest freight and passenger hauler and fledgling combat pilot (still learning). But I think this is great news and I'm happy for all who can afford one when they hit the shelves.

Haha, same. Been playing since launch and I routinely see people bragging about having billions of money after a month of playing. Oh well. :p

"Unique resource to fuel" eagle feathers?
Only 23 each 'Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulators' are required for each jump. You will have to travel to the System of Nee! to get them, each will cost 1 Shrubbery...And you will need to fight the Black Knight, blindfolded, with both arms tied behind your back...but it should be easy!

I hope price tag of a carrier will be high enough to make these vessels really special, not something you buy after a few runs with void opals.

Considering Void Opals are a massively OP, borderline exploit, money grind I hope it carriers are affordable to everyone who doesnt decide to do that. You know, explorers, combat pilots, smugglers and all the other careers these ships explicitly cater to. Lets not enforce a mandatory VO grind...

Maybe the base model carrier costs 1 billion, but to fully upgrade the carrier it would cost a total of 42 billion :p

I'm REALLY hoping the base version will be around 500 million... :p

Glad to know others are in the same boat. I too started playing in early access. I've got more enjoyment out of this game than any of the other's I invested in at that time.

I'm just thinking about trade CG's. Park this thing outside a supply station, fill it up, and then jump to the destination. Top 10% in one trip. Would have been great for the last Intersellar Initiative where the Alliance delivery point was 161K ls away from the jump in point.

So about this special fuel resource... Is it somehow connected to introduction of Arx points?
That did cross my mind. But surely not even Frontier would be that cynical?

It would be nice to know what sort of price range we're looking at for a basic carrier though. I've never felt the need to even hit a billion credits (the richer of my accounts has something like 750 million) so it might be time to start grinding those Opals.

And I'd love it if the fuel was called Quirium, for old time's sake.

Overall this is looking quite promising at first glance. It's not a million miles from the Hardwar-esque hangar model I've advocated a few times; buy it, store ships in it, open it up for others or just keep it for yourself. The only difference is these are mobile.

New resource: Arx.

Goodbye no pay to win.

Also, individual buy.. no squadron effort. GG exploiters.

Absolutely nothing about this announcement fills me with any confidence. Thanks FDev. While you've generally been incompetent over the years, it's been foolishly endearing to see. This is just cancer.

Similar here and I suspect my 2.1 Billion in cash won't be sufficient. If you think that is much, it's mainly the result of 8000 h playtime minus a wipe last year. Otherwise I've never grinded and I'm not going to start with that nonsense now, for no carrier in the world. :)

Honestly, a few hundred million for a basic, no frills, carrier sounds fine to me. If two billion ain't enough I am out. :p

I too pull facts out of a dark stinky hole, maybe we should form a squadron!

WOW!... My own customisable space base. Impressive. Great work FD :)

Oh, and please buff mission rewards cos I think I'm going to need to do quite a few soon to build up the bank balance. I may be able to afford the house but furnishing it is going to send me bankrupt hehe.

Arx isn't pay to win. Frontier previously confirmed that Arx will be used to purchase cosmetics and only cosmetics.
