Hello everyone! II'm new to this game and i started now understanding how to make credits and do the basic things. I want to be a miner, and i have already the equipment ready, but every time i start mining on an asteroid i can't pick up chunks even if my cargo bay is empty. So, do i need something specific? If yes, where can i find it, and can i use it in the first default ship?

Sounds like you need a collector limpet module. They fit in your optional slots. They come in various sizes, if you have a spare slot, you can fit one.

DON’T FORGET TO BUY LIMPETS!

They are available in the Advanced Maintenance bit. They take up space in your cargo rack but you’re using them as you go, so should be fine.

You’ll also need to set the collector in your fire group.

Thanks for that fast response! I can't found tge limpets as i can't do the advanced manteinance, idk why. But i'll look better at it later. :)

The fuel scoop has no function in mining, other than to stop you running out of fuel on the way to your mining system or back.

You can scoop individual mining fragments using your cargo scoop if you wish (that is what NPC miners do and what we had to do before collector limpets).

I don't think i'm understanding. Where can i find limpets and its controller? I tried by searching in the optional slots on some stations but no one had the limpet. I already have the refinery by the way.

On the first welcome screen when you land at a station, very last tab on the bottom right ‘Advanced Maintenance’ (I’m sure it’s called that) takes you to another screen, on the left look ‘refill’, you’ll see limpets in there.

The controller is available in outfitting. Same place you buy the fuel scoop.

The controllers are optional slot equipment in outfitting.

Limpets are bought (and sold back if you want) in the Restock part of the Advanced Maintenance section of the Station Services screen. (Click the arrowhead to adjust the number you want.)

EDDB shows 1E collector limpet controllers available in Dromi and Orna systems.

Stations in Elite: Dangerous - search, filter, find and sort stations ... and find modules and ships!

Use that page to find stuff, just change the module field for searches near Dromi - remember that the newbie-zone stations only carry low-rated modules generally (up to C rated I think).
