To be honest, I don't think FD communication is that bad (although not great either), They sure do communicate more often than the vast majority of game companies, even if they don't have people adressing everyone individually on all matters, or as often as people would like.
The only bit I dislike, is the lack of info on whatever the future plans are. This becomes especially evident since we came from an initial era of the "newsletter week peek", and "developer diaries" where people always had something to look forward to, to an era of complete, area-51 like secrecy, where FD refuses to even hint about whatever plans they have for next year or even the next 6 months.
While most companies try to create enthusiasm about incoming releases to increase game notoriety and drive sales, FD on the other hand keeps going the extra mile to keep this game as below the radar as possible for some strange reason. It's like they don't actually have a long term plan and just "do things as they go", or don't have enough confidence in their own work.
