Think that prices need to be refined?

Ok after hours of watching videos from Gamescom where folks played the game I'm sure now that it has huge potential with management also. The only thing which I think developers need to pay attention on it are prices which are too cheap given that one donation box could gather 100 000$. If one power station cost only 10$ it would be so easy then and game could have that "piece of cake" moment when we playing it. Let alone that is funny that one power generator or how it's called cost same like one piece of wood for monkeys climbing pieces, which looks amazing btw, I watched DeLady what she did in her video with lemurs.

I'm not saying this as some hater post or anything like that. I have watched very carefully probably every video and saw really big management potential and more harder or should I say balanced financial system could make this game really challenging. I mean animal cost 500$ or 1000$ and you have from donation box 100 000$ let alone other incomes. Or all those dozens of items which cost 10$ also. That should be fixed and more balanced and we are set for one amazing game. Everything beside that is superb.

The Gamescom build was pretty much a demo one with sped-up time and I am sure reduced prices as well. Visitors and streamers should have the ability to experience and show as much as possible. Asking to "fix" it is a little bit premature, imo.

This doesn't say, the devs will pinpoint the balance right away ... or at all. For what I've read (not only in breezerHOG's post above), Planet Coaster isn't exactly challenging, when it comes to money.
So you might still have a point. But making it should be postponed until we had our hands on the beta to evaluate the balance.
I too do hope they will strive for a reasonably challenging one.

Power stations weren't working in the Gamescon demo, right?

So why would you charge more than 10$ for a non working feature...

As for Planco. There are more than enough options in the scenario editor to make the game more challenging.

I think OP was talking about the official career scenarios... has a scenario editor even been confirmed for Plazoo yet? We didnt get the scenario editor in Planco until over a year after release, and people complained about it so much because you cant balance them by restricting DLC packs which completely ruins the challenge when you can use cheap items that the map creator couldnt modify. Planco really needed to allow players to modify the price of each individual scenery item, not to mention other prices (like ride running costs)

I hope the $10 items were placeholders. Also the animals are much too cheap for me. The berlin zoo pays a rental fee of 920.000€ per year for only two Pandas to the chinese government.

It would be a good challenge if some animals were really expensive :)
I don't know about zoos outside of Europe, but most animals in most European zoos do not represent a value in money. Animals are exchanged between European zoos with a "closed wallet". The only costs that are involved are the transport costs, which are to be paid by the zoo that is receiving an animal from another zoo. European zoos do not pay to acquire new animals from other European zoos.

Giant Pandas are an exception; they are part of the so called "Panda Diplomacy". More information about that can be found on Wikipedia.

And the restriction on DLC has been solved as well. So no point in bringing that back up again.

The management I feel is more focused on the care of animals. Just financials alone would make it the same of every other sim game.
The animals must have the appropriate habitat and enrichment, they get sick, they fight, weather can change their needs too. You have to manage these things, as well as keeping the guests happy and staying in profit.

There are protesters (if animals are unhappy), vandalism, litter, broken down utilities (which harm animal environment), hiding of staff buildings to keep guests happy, ensuring the appropriate staff buildings are near enclosures with clever design and use of staff paths, (my warthog starved to death because the zookeeper had to cross the park and there were huge crowds). Then there is the animal trading and breeding. Staff management too, with improves roster system.

I think it's less about being a 'tycoon' and more about being a responsible zoo keeper. However, money does play a part too.

I sorta agree with fixing the prices but maybe those prices what was shown to us won't be like that at launch? After all we only saw alpha.
