Too Many Currencies

Credits make sense to me. Materials that are completely separate and not exchangeable with credits makes way less sense (especially those common materials like iron and zinc). And now we have Arx, which is something we earn in the game, yet it's completely unrelated to either credits or materials. It's this weird ethereal stuff that's not connected to anything in any sort of specific or Lore-friendly way, yet it is earned by actual gameplay and purchases actual "stuff" that changes how our ships looks.

On PS4, the "Frontier Points" always felt like a very separate thing from the game. The new Arx is now integrated into the game, and at the risk of triggering someone, it kinda breaks my immersion. It really does make ED feel a bit more like Fortnite or Paladins, and I don't think I like it. Now if cosmetics and Arx were managed from the main menu instead of inside the game itself, I think it would feel very different. I guess I just have to train myself to ignore it like I have with the whole "material as currency" system that came before.

ARX should be handled as a background meta-currency, but it's being put in awkward places. It could have been easily handwaved as a Pilots Federation currency or something, but it's just stuffed into every menu imaginable.

It should be in the side menus at best, tucked into the livery or outfitting, or set next to Holo-Me. Not everywhere.

I agree. Arx in principle don't bother me, and I like the idea of earning then whilst I play but keep them out of the game and on the menu, it's not rocket science. It makes about as much sense to me as playing a historical game about Vikings but having an advert for Coca-Cola hung off the walls of your castle

Really curious about that new „commodity“ for fuel only used for carriers too (can be bought or mined - i no that doesnt classify as a real currency but it feels like it). Why couldnt they just stick to regular fuel or existing materials.

I may be going against the current but the current concurrent currencies occurrence is a cure for the commander customisation craze.
