People act as it's the worst update of all times, like they always do. And it actually is a buggy mess, but that's why I never play on patch day. We have exactly the same discussions we always have, and everyone who is saying something different either lies to himself or has very bad memory.Hmm... now I'm hungry.
In all seriousness, though, it kind of grinds my gears that Fdev pushed out probably one of the smoothest updates yet and even did something explicitly pro-customer (as much as they could while retaining the revenue income) and the literally only downside of all this is the icon in station menu and yet people still whine.
The next problem is that the update didn't contain anything for veteran players, apart from being able to unlock paintjobs in-game. Personally I couldn't care less about earning Arx in-game, I gladly give Frontier the money that I spend for a coffee or a beer everyday as long as the game gets maintained.
And I am not even slightly annoyed by the blue shop icon in the station screen, but even without being annoyed I know that it's wrong. It's immersion breaking (just like all the press button hints that I don't want to see) and it's completely unneeded. If I want to spend money I'll do just that, I don't need a reminder that I could spend it since I'll do it on my terms (=when I am in the mood) and not because I get overwhelmed with adverts. So if I had the choice I'd rather see the bad blue icon being gone. The protest against it seems rather fun and not entirely serious, and since I am never serious (but always reasonable, or was it the other way around?) I'll gladly support it.
Most importantly though, if Frontier listens to our 'demands' it would send a pretty important message to the community and that can only be a good thing.
