Is ’release to wild’ abusable?

Not saying I will abuse the button.
But say if the animal is currently happy and healthy, is that the only condition to release them?
what are the consequences for spamming the button for the sake of Conservation Credits

I don't think there will be any consequences as that would be stupid. Releasing to the wild, from what they showed in the demos, looked like the system in zoo tycoon 2, where if the animals are healthy and happy they'll be released to the wild.

just worried if the parents will stress out their children are missing. Or if the parents were released the the children feel lost at first.

what could stop a person from mass releasing to wild just to get conservation credits to get a rare animal quickly

I don't think it will go that much in depth. Not to mention, I bet there will be some sort of cooldown to make it to where you can only release a few animals to the wild at a time.

Maybe we can only sent adult animals back into the wild. I don’t think it would go much deeper then that.

I don't see a big problem either. Releasing an animal is basically a trade of ressources. Naturally, having lots of money makes it easier to gather condervation credits but if you have a good amount of money your zoo seems to be running decently enough, which is unlikely without caring about animal welfare. So I don't see this as an issue as long as the 'trade-rates' (money->animal->conservation credits) are fair enough.

You can only release adult animals.

I don't see what you mean by "abuse the button". Releasing animals to be able to acquire new ones is intended. How would it be an abuse?

This guy keeps asking questions about the in-game economy, thinking that the game will eventually become too easy due to people cheating or abusing features to get more money. I highly doubt it will be a problem, and I think frontier would have already thought about stuff like this before putting it into the game.

My guess is this mechanic in general only really applies to achievements and the campaign mode. For sandbox mode there would be very little benefit to releasing them into the wild so I'm guessing it'll more or less be a condition for completing certain career mode campaigns. Something like "Successfully breed and release 4 rhinos into the wild".

Makes me wonder if sandbox will have a different animal market than the franchise and story mode. Sort of like how zoo tycoon 2 was, where if you played in sandbox, you had access to all animals, but in campaign and challenge mode, the animals would need to be refreshed, as you only have 4 or 5 of them at a time.

In some ways I hope this is the case. The "adopt an animal" marketplace seems like an overly complicated menu for a zoo game. It makes sense for a realistic campaign mode but for sandbox mode an animal selection screen similar to Zoo Tycoon 1 or 2 would be ideal. Literally can use the Planet Coaster decoration UI just replace it with animals instead of trees/rocks. The last thing I want is the Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Collection selection process where I have to click on an animal then it pulls up four "options" for adoption (ranging in age, gender, etc). If I want a male and female African elephant it should be as simple as clicking an elephant and selecting male, then plopping it into my exhibit. No need to give the animals an entire fictional backstory and adoption sheet for sandbox.

Not to mention, that it would be tiresome if you wanted a specific animal, but the sandbox marketplace doesn't have said animal on it.
