DX12 Support

it might be a good idea to let frontier wait until microsoft actually release it before demanding that frontier start to support it.

Considering it isn't scheduled to be released for anoth and ser 12 months at least, and undoubtedly it will be a Windows 10 feature (I don't think it will be back ported to Windows 7) and seeing as Microsoft have already said that Windows 9, I mean Windows 10, will be free for Windows 8.1 users, ... erm, I forgot what my point was going to be. You'll need Windows 10 to make use of it.

Actually, Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for windows 7, 8, 8.1 owners for 1 year after release (no strings attached).

Systems purchased (upgraded) after that year will have to pay for the OS. Windows XP are out of luck, but then the OS is no longer supported either.

I was actually wondering what will happen to those who upgraded from lets say Win 7 after a year?
What if someone will need to reinstall the system because of HDD failure?

Might actually be worth waiting until Windows 10 is released before anything.
Then they need to run tests on the OS to ensure compatibility and run diagnostics tests to ensure crashes don't occur due to the OS itself.
And once that is done, then start looking at DX12.

There is no chance to get it now while the only OS to support DX12 is still in Beta.

That's going to be fun :( I bought 8.0 and got the free update to 8.1. If I have to reinstall 8.1 I have to install the full 8.x version first then the entire 8.1 upgrade has to be installed from scratch removing the original 8.x install and all it's hidden garbage after. So if I get the free Win 10 update. If I ever want to start a fresh install. I'll probably have to install windows three times in succession to get to the latest version.

Fortunately 8.1 is an excellent OS, I only had to go through the above nonsense once since I bought it which was when I bought my SSD.

An ISO and windows loader I guess. That usually solves my windows activation problems :D

DX12? LMAO, they still can't sort out some decent anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, don't get your hopes up.

Furthermore, being a DX11 enabled game, ED still can't give us some tesselation for a change. So, even on max setting you still have to enjoy sights such as this:

At least in 1.1 they have super sampling options in the graphics settings. even 1x produced much better AA along those horizontal beams in the Hangar. I tested it in 1.1 beta. Previously I was using DSR but the built in SS is better. If they could put something in between 1x and 2x (2x is too slow) 1x with a custom res of 1440p which scales down to 1080 works really well though.

Not too worried about DX12 myself. It usually takes at least a year for anything to support new API's properly.

Then again, that might be a terrible idea...
Microsoft has already laid the groundwork. They will not be working directly with any developer focused on on their platform(s).
[hotas]
They(F : D :D) have consistantly shown interest in what "the community(individuals)" have shown to be pertinent issues experienced with their user end product(s).

A specific criticism on this scale(2.3 update) would ammount to a bug report by a concerned software tester(though obviously, not at the alpha nor beta state... Regardles...).

I am as critical of FD as anyone(including themselves).
That said, and from an outside investors POV, please don't downplay potentially significant reports from anyone, be they an official alpha tester, beta tester or otherwise. Let the F'ing higher up official bodies conduct their ananytical reports as they see fit without surperfluous reports from us which may obscure their judgment.

Obviously, your input is nothing less than positive in intent, but in the realm of objective judgment, your point is nothing less than noise added to the reports on relevant function.

(Addendum: Please cease and desist any and all grammatical errors from your reports and requests.)
