Will VR cause human extinction?

If we have full dive VR would there still be people living in real life?

In your opinion approximately how many people would remain if that would happen? 1 MIllion maybe

Thanks

It would be similar to how humans were in the movie "The Matix". Everyone in pods and machines taking care of the pods because, if machines don't have a purpose even if they have to create it, will and would simply shut themselves off.

When society gets too detached from the real it collapses on itself and is replaced by the real.

Those that live in VR will be replaced by those who are good at two things:

1: Hitting other people with rocks.
2: Making babies.

It seems crude but basic biology will kick the poop out of anything we can build with machines.
It also utterly destroys all of the silly social theories & accumulated brain farts produced by academia.

You can take that to the bank.

people living in vr is still living in real life. but what is real life?

everything you experience, feel and think is your brain constructing an hallucination from sensory inputs. it doesn't really matter where those inputs come from. we call that reality but it isn't. what you deem real is only what stuff looks like to your limited senses and the 'meaning' you attribute to that, you will never experience 'real reality', only representations, because the signals you get are only side-effects and there is (are?) a hell of a lot of signals the human body is oblivious to.

ask yourself this: what's real life to a deaf person? to a blind person? to a daltonic? to an unconscious person? to a drunk person? to a penguin? i could go on and on! :D

i'm obviously just messing around the commonly misused concept of reality :p if you mean if everybody will wear goggles or implants or be attached to any borg we construct ... well, i guess probably only those who qualify, i.e., can afford them.

Of course not, VR is just 'virtual' It's different from reality. For me, it's just a means of entertainment and to de-stress myself from the hustle and bustle of real life. I love playing VR Games such as Gonzo's Quest and Robo Recall. Every time I play these games, I feel like I'm in a different world where problems of everyday life don't exist 🙌
