Hello, I'm CMDR Garfield Carrott and I'm an addict ...

Having spent the last 12 months out in the black scanning one of the Zunou sub-sectors, I thought I would relish some time (a few months maybe) away from the game.

So I spent a couple of weeks playing some of the other games in my Steam collection. I only got through ADR1FT and Bendy & The Ink Machine before it dawned on me that the Exploration itch was already growing.

So I've now set out (in the style of Chiggy) to map all my first discovered ELWs around the galaxy.

Seems this game has some mystical hold over me ...

True.
Hmmm.
Ah, now I know why I like this thread - it reminds me of my fav commercial from way back 😂
"Wassup?"
"Nothing, just playing the game, posting on the forum. You?"

Addicted? Earlier maybe, but this past year, nah. Despite the FSS, I do still explore, just not as much as I used to, because of two reasons. One, there are still some things I wish to check and can't rely on crowdsourced data, and two, there still isn't another game for exploring a believable galaxy.
As long as these stay this way, I wager I'll return to exploring time and again.

A understandable perspective. There's always one more trip to make, system to map or jump to take. The galaxy map isn't as freshly squeezed as it was a few years ago but there are still great sights to see in magnificent isolation.
After more than a whole month in the bubble, trolling pirates and core mining, I also long for some, out in the black loneliness.
I know some find long exploration boring but so is parking your Corvette and watching it's turrets shoot hapless bandits.
A nice red wine helps with those long trips.
