[Video] Open letter from community to Elite Dangerous

Note: I don't represent the entire community. I only represent myself.

So, about that 2020 DLC... If it follows the pattern of the last five years, life becomes much easier. I will not need detailed communications about it. I just won't buy it. It's the most effective communication I can make to Frontier.

I'm probably alone in this opinion. :)

So ... are you against the petition then? The additional permanent beta, fixing PP & CQC, weapon rebalance, cockpit ponies that are being demanded will no doubt knock delivery back to 2021 or 2022, thus delaying your god-given right to withhold payment.

🤔 Someone should inform the lepers that SDC are calling for delays to their DLC ....

You forgot all about the FSS.

The difference with NMS is that they now have a track record of positive polished releases for the game fdev no longer has this good will.

your GW2 reference can also be countered by warframe, far more players and the most open a company could be and more successful than many other games. We can pick and choose examples to support an argument for every example of open communication working you will have an example of poor communication.

Fdev frustrates because they just dont speak to us they simply announce to us.
I'm not sure that speaking to "us" is a good idea. If "us" is the group of people such as myself who are relatively happy with ED, and just have the occasional suggestion regarding how they think the game could be made better, and only complain when something game-breaking occurs (such as the disastrous September update), that would be okay.

But if "us" is that group of whiney and consistently negative men-children who think everything needs to be changed (some want this, some want that, but in total their demands would overwhelm and eventually kill the game), and keep telling us that Frontier are a greedy company, or that ED "has no gameplay", then I think that group is best ignored.
