[Video] Open letter from community to Elite Dangerous

I think the purpose of the letter was to reach out to Frontier in a constructive way rather than go straight on the attack with a boycott. They signers, from Harry Potter to Obsidian Ant, all just want to help. Think of this as a family intervention where they just want to talk. Your suggestion is more like locking a family member up until they give in. If the opponents to this petition are upset now imagine how they'd have reacted to a campaign to boycott....
Its not so much an attempt to help as it is a disparate group with different agenda's all wanting their own way right now or else.
I know some of the signers and your assertion does not sit with what I know of them as people. Please just take a moment to consider that these are all just, as you say, disparate concerned fans who have seen in each other the same worries and want to help. Are you so dead set on opposing anyone who doesn't share your view that you can't countenance their being honest? Even for a moment?
And how is that any different from what you do?

To be far.... it is a list of things they propose to FD... I can't see anything related to "do this or else..."

Stigbob is as entitled to his view as any of the rest of us. And we can ignore it if we choose.
The "or else" is the proposed game boycott (on this page and elsewhere in this thread) and the proposed boycott of FDEV by streamers and such in the petition. Zac directly addressed this threat in his reply there :

I can totally live without those content creators. I can even live without EDDB.io and INARA if I have to.
Of course, as you are doingso right now. But if you question the integrity of other people whom (I presume) you don't know without evidence then you cannot complain when someone queries you. Please don't act like my "maybe they're genuine and maye try to understand where they are coming from" is an effort to silence you.
Of course he is and I'm not trying to silence him but he cannot put his opinion out there and expect no criticism, especially when he's questioning people's motives and integrity with no evidence.

I'll always oppose and doubt the motivation of this sort of approach :

Entitled ?, yes definitely.
Which takes me back to my original point above of they want their own way right now or else. I prefer my video games made by developers whose products I enjoy and appreciate, rather than disgruntled/entitled players with some very bad idea's and no track record of making good games.
You accused them of having agendas and question their motives and refuse to accept that they want to help, engage and work with Frontier for the benefit of the game despite having no way to know this. No way how you spin it, that's accusing them of dishonesty my friend.
If you think that Frontier are doing a sterling job and the game is fine then good for you. Genuinely. But some of the rest of us don't. Please don't question our motives and integrity. We all love Elite and are perfectly entitled to voice a view with which you disagree. And you are perfectly entitled to voice your disagreement. But let's stay away from the accusations of lying, agendas, belittling opponents as a tiny vocal minority (not you but I've seen it said a few times in this thread), calling people apologists or carebears or any of the other childish nonsense.
