LOL!!!! Mike you need to have my back on this, us Cambridge residents need to protect each other!.

is it just the full names in the pot at the moment (I am kind of hoping that as well as full names, in the main game fore and surnames will be added into the melting pot for more variety (as well as complete as well of course).

I think it is fine for beta, and I absolutely want the full names in the full game as well, however

given the number of people who paid for a name (probably quite small) if the names are not mungled....... or a giant pot of frontier names put in (which equally reduces the chance of seeing your personal name) then imo the names will pop up too much and be a bit samey.

imo mixing up the pot, and keeping the full names as well offers a nice compromise, that way you will still see part of your name pop up from time to time....

having "just" the full name in now for beta actually is imo the perfect compromise as hopefully if you play you WILL get to see the proper name at least once.

just my 2p..... :)

I bet some people have named them after current GFs, only to split up with them. I'm assuming they'll be a lot of NPCs on peoples KOS lists

Awesome. I guess the chances are slim to see a Ming in there, just for the sake of completion... You're at any rate not supposed to kill these. You should bow down and give them gifts, or at least some kind words!

Yes, I have.

I dont mind the Cmdr names so much as that is common for multiplayer.

I remember asking at the time if names would be checked before being allowed, flesh gorgan seems a bit borderline... :rolleyes:

But I do hope my Solo experience is not full of npc's with names like 'Mike Oxbent' , or 'Ben Dover'.

And how did 'Isaac Newton' get in there?
