I might be able to get behind that.
But what about people who want neither? Do we get a third petition?
Be the change you want to see, and make the petition yourself! It costs nothing at all.
Same here, make a petition or poll or something. Prove that you're actually in the majority rather than just saying "these popular names in the online presence and discourse don't agree with me therefore they're not the real community!"

As a Brit (specifically, a proud Jock from Edinburgh who grew up in Harrow) & the owner of a 2015 Jaguar XF 3.0D V6 Portfolio, I can tell you that in over 3 years I've never had even one major issue & only a couple of very minor ones. I wish I could say the same about my previous car, a BMW 330D Coupe - a manufacturer, supposedly with one of the best reputations for build quality in the industry - at less than 2 years old, conked out with a serious engine management issue on the A3 approaching the South Circular in London <ahem> at morning rush hour...I won't forget that day in a hurry or the fruity Chaucerian vernacular I learnt either from the legendarily patient, empathetic & amiable Londoners.

Did you sign it? As part of what community? The ‘haven’t played the game for over half a year community’?
Actually, I am curious. Here is the petition: https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/community-requests-to-fdev-for-elite-dangerous What about it, precisely, is not sufficiently clear and polite? Include specific passages and how you would change or word them.
It is about some that wants us to sign a petition enabling them to oversee FD's debugging efforts or we and FD will suffer the consequences.
It is also about some thinking that's not really the way to go as 1) these people don't really represent the community and 2) FD should be allowed to do so themselves without self-entitled outsiders putting their fingers in the pie dough as well.
And it is about some wondering if the bug reporting process could be improved so we were more likely to do so on the fly.
There's also some bewilderment as to who the majority really is and whether they are represented in one form or the other by the louder youtubers and/or the Big 15.
Did I miss something? Didn't know we needed minutes taken.

I like asking people to put their money where their mouth is. I once shut down 4 people at once in a political discussion when I asked them if they knew who their representatives were.
Nothing I said was obtuse, though it did reference your extremely obtuse insistence to continually shift terminology whenever it would best suit you. I pointed out you very clear contradictions, so you just turned and left.
Seems like your argument doesn't stand up well to scrutiny.

Alright. I know who my representatives are not in this. They are listed at the end of the petition. I would like to see that none of these ever have anything to do with the development of Elite Dangerous, unless they get hired by FDEV in some role (I don't know what their credentials are, they might have skills needed by game developers). I'd be happy if they keep reporting bugs, though. Using the bug tracker and this forum.
SWell if you think the community that doesn't want changes is bigger, then I again invite you to form your own petition to denounce the one at the top of this thread.

What is not clear? Among a few other things the actual intent, motivations and exploitation of the OL (and the audience) by some of the contributors to the petition, for example.

Now we've established polite simply doesn't apply to this can you explain what the petitions actually about as "balance" could mean pretty much anything.
Major bugs sounds like a character from Starship Troopers and is so imprecise its impossible to satisfy.
Also an impolite threatening demand for more communication is quite obviously self defeating.
I think if anything what you've probably achieved is a lot less communication from FDEV, and nobody sane would blame them.
But why a petition in the first place? That's the overly entitled bit. Why does a bunch of players think that by signing something that one or more of them dreamed up entitled them to any effect on the game we all play? Isn't it already plenty apparent that there are bugs and issues in the game, and doesn't the history of the game development so far show that FDEV is dealing with these bugs and time and resources allow?
And what makes you think that the community does not want change? I think most want change - the entire premise of the 10-year scope of the game is change. We get updates and patches, and once in a while a bigger DLC package. That's been in the game from the start.
Change is happening. If it is not at the pace and form that the petition gang want, well tough for them. I've wanted (and am getting) change, and have been happy overall so far. Only thing I actively haven't wanted is the form of change outlined in that petition.
