Do players still get the entire pack of paint jobs with a purchase? If not then paint jobs just went up about 6 fold.

Negligible is a subjective quality drawn from your evaluation.

The way I see it, there are two types of people in this: those who have enough impulse control to not put their livelihood at risk over internet space pixels, and those who don't. If you're the former, by definition the impact of ARX as a scheme to obfuscate costs and exploit your FOMO is negligible (video games are a luxury, at the end of the day it hardly matters whether one company gets all your disposable income through their devious schemes, as long as they don't start tapping into your living expenses).
If you're the latter, considering you live in a world where every company tries to obfuscate costs and exploit your FOMO, chances are your efforts would be better spent seeking help with that impulse control problem. Or if you want to tilt at windmills, pick a better target, like the pharmaceutical industry, the big food conglomerates or your local politicians.

So there is people who pretend it does not exist, and people who need psychological help... Got it thanks.

No dont let this people double inverse fool you. Frontier points worked in hundreds, and the prices of everything in the store was 100 / 50 / 25. I think it its safe to say the most common scenario would be people could work out the dollar price of a cosmetic in one or two of the easiest calculations.

Arx is just something else....

Though you did end up with change with frontier points sure.
I never used Frontier "points". I used real money.

Because a PC is the only way to visit a website :)

The amount of posts I have to edit on here because of my lack of skills on a phone keyboard is frankly embarrassing. The idea that I would put down my controller, go to a website on my phone, to buy cosmetics for a game I’m playing on my console is silly. If anything it feels too convoluted to trust it would work.

Most of us don't WANT to be able to buy stuff in-game, hence the massively overwhelming majority of people hating the stupid "store" button in the game's UI.
Prior to the 3.5 release, there were recurring requests on the forum for:
- a way to earn cosmetics through in-game activity rather than paying for them
- a decent way to preview the things in game rather than either buying them and hoping or waiting to see someone else who'd already bought one. (And once you've got an in-game preview, being able to buy from the preview makes sense too)
Those requests got basically no opposition raised to those requests on "no, we'd hate that" grounds - it's not like "10000 LY jump range" or similar which actually gets other players pushing back when it's suggested.

The implementation has its problems - though it's better now that button isn't blue any more - but it was definitely responding to common requests as well as any other purposes it may have.

(Personally, as someone who only flies a couple of ships and doesn't repaint them much, Arx will probably mean Frontier never gets any more cash cosmetic purchases from me, since the free Arx is more than enough for what I need. But obviously that's not everyone's experience of it)

Weird.
I didn't see either of those phrases in the OP.

On topic, the paint-jobs that used to be part of the packs tend to be pretty cheap, in Arx, and it's the fancy ones that are expensive.
Overall, some of the prices have gone up and some have gone down.

Whether or not you gain from the changes really depends on what you want.
If you would previously have had to buy, say, the entire "Vibrant" pack just to get an industrial-yellow paint-job for your T9 then you win.
If, OTOH, you might've used an entire "Horus" pack on different ships then you're probably going to lose.
He called me a zealot because I said they should have done some research first. Seemed like a bit of an overreaction.

Really ?. For me they've become free, I haven't done the math(s) on it but I'm willing to put forward the theory that represents something of a price drop.

And once again your wrong. Free is free. That you coincidentaly spend more than 20 hours per week on a videogame and get virtual currency while doint it doesnt make it free.

Interesting that I’m just putting forward opinions in this thread and being greeted with personal references.

Dude... that's all anyone is doing in here. Personally I think it worked better when there was a store that accepted real money. Whether you couldn't get to it on a PS4 from in game is irrelevant. I fail to see why the whole in game purchasing experience needed to be re-worked in order to cater for console players.

I bought Arx this week on my Alt account, as there were a few things I liked in the store... I guess in the last 18 months I've given FD around £20 for cosmetics, flippant I know, but sometimes...

The OP is comparing PJ's that were always sold singly against packs, even I recall the 'premium' PJ's being sold individually, often for more than a 'cheap' pack... If my memory failed me and I believed this observation to be correct I would certainly be complaining too...

Now I was able to buy a single skin, from a pack of 8, for slightly more than 1/8th of the package cost - pretty good as previously I'd have bought the 8 and ignored 7 of them :)

I'll give FD money for cosmetics any time I wish, regardless of the calls to shun the store, as it is my decision. But I will point out that my main account will use the freebies for any little frippery as that account has all I want currently, should this change, well - my Arx balance is going up by 400 each week, I can wait :)
