The Sad End of my Beta Experience

I'm looking at everyone's well made and finished zoos and I'm incredibly jealous.

So far every zoo franchise I've tried to start has been riddled with game-breaking bugs that've stopped me every single time from really getting to -play- Planet Zoo. First zoo suffered from the notorious issue of Zookeepers not wanting to take care of animals, which has since been patched. Second zoo crashed because of animals generally not eating.

Third Zoo suffered from not getting any donations, which I powered through and eventually found a fix. Only for it to start crashing every time I tried to edit a work zone.

So Fourth and Final Zoo, I decided to really stick in my heels and I was -determined- to get a good playthrough going this time. I just got my weeks vacation from work and I intended to make good on the last two days Planet Zoo would be up... But of course:

Animal Market isn't even loading. So, with that I frankly just give up. It's a shame the game looks like a blast and I hope for release that these bugs are all worked out so I can have a smooth play-through and sink my hours into it. I would have loved to give my two cents on the Franchise Mode economy for animal trading and whatnot but I can barely get a park running without some game breaking bug slapping me in the face so I can't even get off the ground or something that cripples a zoo that -is- off the ground.

I know beta is beta, there will be bugs but, man I hope Frontier got the information they needed because I felt totally useless in this beta. Not a single park of mine actually worked and each time got broken by something outside of my power to actually deal with.

:(

Again just disheartened and venting. I wish the rest of you luck and I'll be looking through your amazing builds, hopefully it'll give me ideas when the game fully releases and it's bugs are worked out. Keep Zookeeping folks!

:( I feel truly sad for you- Didn't have much luck with the beta as well and don't feel much like playing anymore until release. But I look forward to the full release very much.

Just remember we will have the game forever then and have time to build our dream zoo with lots less bugs.
I also hope Frontier has collected enough data. I'm worry the beta is too short, because people find new bugs every day it seems. But I guess everything will work out somehow.

Try reloading the game and make sure you have an online connection before you open the franchise zoo, that should resolve the market.
That being said, I have encountered none of the issues that you are having. So sorry for the troubles but keep on at it. The game is simply amazing!

Sadly this screenshot was taken after my third attempt at closing and reloading the game. So that doesn't seem to be helping, I also have an online connection. Just... It's not loading. Again I don't want to be a debbie downer, but I really envy those who haven't run into issues. I haven't been able to enjoy the game at all since the beta started.

Hi,

I have same problem like you. It's workaround but it's just work - just run first scenario and then start franchise again. Hope it will help :)

I’ve had most of the same bugs as you sans the donation one, I just kept my zoo and looked or waited for a fix. For the zoo keepers, removed feeding enrichment items, for the work zones, just don’t edit them, delete and make a new zone, for the market just wait it out.

Hi RaptorZefier - I have closed down about 12 parks in beta due to me doing the wrong thing and glitchy Mkglitchy glitch; not contemplating how things work and always being a total doofus - Don't give up - I have found it a really massive learning curve to even get any sort of profit and I am only doing this now.
I've worked around the bugs by saving the game as I go - then going back - although this process had quite a few bugs, but I got there eventually. The animal market made me save - and close down my PC and then restart the game many times - it is beta . . .
What worked for me and allowed me to make profit from the get go is build a large staff/shop complex and then build two exhibits right off that complex, landscape, put in plenty of seating, education/signs and minimal staff and if your exhibits are landscaped well where the guests can see(this is really important) then things should slowly move forward. So keep it small in the beginning and lavish the animal and guest view areas and then slowly increase the money - then It might help you have a better experience of this awesome game!
Look forward to seeing your great parks - when you find your way with the game, regards G

The same thing is happening to me. Wanted to play as its the last day of the beta but no animal market, no matter how many times I reload.
Overall it wasn't the best experience for me either due to all the bugs. It just kept annoying me.
I'm a bit concerned about what will we get as the final product. I'm no dev but one month seems like a really short time to sort out everything. Anyway, I'm trying to be optimistic as this game has so much potential and when everything gets sorted out it will be a blast to play! :)
