It was the principle used to make the point. Maybe thargoid hearts or what not could be so rare money can't buy, but common elements, data that most ships leave, or components which are fitted to basic ships... Logically these should be purchasable with credits. I know why it is done this way and even get why some players don't care, but given the type of game FD explained they were making I hoped and expected FD to make a better job at hiding the "game" elements and making a more realistic feeling experience.Why on earth would you want to buy iron and sulphur? I accidentally pick up tons of the stuff while I'm mining and it's all over the surfaces of planets with geological signals.
Alarm bells were ringing when blueprints were routinely called recipies by the Devs and when the chief dev was completely unaware about the difference between slaves and imperial slaves.
Players don't need to know the lore to play the game if it is of no interest but the Devs should know it inside out.
