Yttrium... for FSD range boost

Can any of you chaps kindly confirm if Yttrium is found solely when mining Needle Crystals? Here is my video of mining Yttrium. It's only a very short video, but so far only Needle Crystals have yielded this element. Thanks.

When mining geo sites, there are four grades of material sources: cobble, crystal fragments, crystal clusters, and needle crystals. Those correspond to the four grades of raw materials, so needle crystals (and only these) will always drop the rare material for that planet. Bio sites work the same way, but have different names for the growths - phloem excretions are the space fungus equivalent of needle crystals.

That said, you can absolutely source the rare raw materials from other places. On planet surfaces, rare elements can drop from popping mesosiderites and metallic meteorites IIRC. However, the collection rate for rare elements should be much better by going to a bio or geo site. If you need a large amount, consider flying out to the Crystalline Shard bio sites.

This used to be the case, I think. Might even be now too, but I recently found more Arsenic in Bronzite Chondrites than in Mesosiderites, the latter were by far best bet for Arsenic with traditional surface prospecting previously.
I've found Yttrium & Polonium on all types of surface deposits, but Metallic Meteorites feel best for the task.

Thanks, that's excellent feedback!

This is my experience: Look at the planet call out. The last four listed will almost always correspond to the Bio/Geo nodes already listed above. Sure, RNG will throw in a curve but if say Yttrium is last on that mineral call out you can pretty much bet it will be in Needle Crystals, Phoelm excretions, or barring that, good old Metallic Meteorites.
