Not so spectacular, but interesting finds. :)

Found this previously undiscovered system with 82 bodies.

Also, the moons A 8 B and A 8 C have really close orbits. And by the looks of it, B seems to be catching up. When I was there they were almost at the opposite sides. I'm almost tempted to fly back and land on C to watch B pass by. Although it's probably going to happen tomorrow when the servers are down.

I ran across this moon which appears to have taken a really hard hit from an asteroid. I thought it so intriguing, I had to land and check it out. I chose the "V" on the northern edge of the crater to land.
sR5XWRF.jpg

When I did land, once out and about in the SRV near the rim, I immediately picked up high frequency pings on my radar although no 'high bands' showed on the display. Of course, I had to investigate.

I drove down into the crater. It was actually a crater within a crater (go back and look at that first picture). Thankfully, it was a low-g moon, but even at that the average 50-degree down angle had me more sliding my way down than driving. It was a very long ride, made even more difficult in trying to home in on the ping's direction... the radar didn't show any indication until I was almost on top of the target.
WOyx1no.jpg

At the target site I found a crashed ship. No idea of what kind of ship it was. There were containers of Personal Weapons and Narcotics around, marked as legal salvage, but where I'm at there's no place to turn them in, so I left them behind. There were also two Occupied Escape Pods, which I did take... I turned the poor souls in to Search & Rescue before docking for the night. Those guys owe me big time.

I should mention there's a triangular peak barely visible in that last picture above, seen in the background enshrouded in mist just above my parked ship; That's the Central Peak of the main crater! I hadn't even made it to the bottom.

The rest of my adventure for the day had me finding two (previously discovered by someone else) NSAs.

The first was a Luteolum LaGrange Cloud, with Prasinum and Purpureum Metallic Crystals floating around. There were also Albulum Gourd Molluscs in the area.

This little guy wanted a close encounter...

One of the crystals...

The second NSA was a Rubicundum LaGrange Cloud, with Solid Mineral Spheres and Rubeum Metallic Crystals floating around. This cloud was actually pretty creepy to navigate around in.

The cloud is quite dark to begin with, and those Mineral Spheres emit dark foggy mists when you get close to them.

None-the-less, this cloud was fun to explore, and a first for me... I got a Codex hit on all three items/finds.

Two very different WWs I've run across...

And, a fine ELW. This body was previously discovered, but I visited and mapped it anyway. To my surprise, while DSS'ing it, it had the loudest of background chatter signals I've heard yet from an ELW. I'm wondering if the radio chatter from these bodies, the intensity, is based on the amount of land area or age. Space legs and the ability to land on such a body are needed!

I once found a POI with a parked black FGS a wrecked ship and containers of illegal narcotics laying all over the place guessed it was a drug deal gone bad so I blew up the gunship cant have that In the witch head.

I've been out and about in the Eagle Nebula the past two weeks, visiting every F class star out in that strange group of rows. I think it's part of the Pillars Of Creation? Interesting place. Anyway; Everything there has already been discovered, but I did run into a few bodies that nobody bothered to map... so I mapped them.

Found an interesting NSA along the way, in the rings of a GG...

Also ran into another pair of LaGrange Cloud NSAs;

Caeruleum with Rubeum and Prasinum metallic crystals...

and Croceum with Purpureum and Prasinum metallic crystals...

I've since flown back to Omega and put in to dock. I was hoping to find Research Limpets in the outfitting there... but no dice. So now I need to decide; Do I continue on for now, checking out more Nebula? Or do I make a 5kly trip back towards the Bubble? Decisions decisions. 🤷‍♂️ I'll sleep on it.

Some really nice pictures LordFerret, really nice.

To the OP: On my first really long trip out to another region, I came across what is a nearly exact twin of your oblate fast-orbiting HMC world:

VcCQUVU.jpg

It was orbiting so fast I had to catch up to it between DSS probe shots. I didn't think it would be unique but this similarity is kinda spooky.

EDIT: I found I had a screenshot of the system map with the planet highlighted, and while the planets are very similar visually they do differ much in the details. After I turn in my data load I'll post the spec's.

And here is the data for the "twin" of Zieman's find:

Found on my ongoing brown dwarf survey: Twin water worlds orbiting each other and around the single quasi-stellar object in the system, a class L dwarf. This could've been a great find, but unfortunately the worlds were just a bit too far away from the dwarf to be terraformable. Instead, thick, high-pressure atmospheres were keeping the surface water liquid. Still somewhat interesting.

1) Realized I've been calling these 'NSA', and they're actually 'NSP'.

2) Some weird happenings today, and I'm not sure if the behavior is normal or if it's an update-related issue. I ran across 4 different NSPs (LaGrange Clouds), 3 of which upon dropping from SC and flying up to the marked 'center', I was not informed of what it was I was flying into (what type LaGrange Cloud). Even if I've encountered such a thing before, I'm usually given notice even if the Codex doesn't get a hit... yes?... or is my memory defective? Anyway, one of you out there hopefully knows the answer and will inform me.

The first 2 finds...

First was an Unidentified LaGrange Cloud; This cloud had Prasinum and Flavum metallic crystals, along with some Rubicundum Collared Pods.
X6HgaH6.jpg

Second was another Unidentified LaGrange Cloud; When I dropped out of SC into this one, it was totally black... so black that nothing shown, not even distant stars. Night vision saved the day. It had Rubeum metallic crystals and Rubicundum Collared Pods. Flying out of the cloud, I discovered it looked similar to the cloud in the previous image above - green.

The second 2 finds.

The first was a Roseum LaGrange Cloud, with Flavum metallic crystals, Solid Minerals Spheres, and a few Blatteum Collared Pods (my ship is sitting just above the dark cloud generated by the Spheres).

The second was yet another Unidentified LaGrange Cloud; This one had Purpureum metallic crystals, Solid Mineral Spheres, and Blatteum Collared Pods.

These were all found out near the Trifid nebula. A few more places to check out, and then I'm off to another nebula. :)

I believe this might have been posted recently?... I ran across it today. A white C1 GG, small at that.

On my way out of the Trifid nebula, I ran across another NSP. Again, the game did not inform me what kind of LaGrange Cloud it was. Disappointing.

Undefined; Rubeum and Prasinum metallic crystals...

Summit Summoning:

Out in the Cat's Paw, I dropped down on this body after mapping to visit a Geo POI. Way off in the distance, a peak stood summoning me. I decided to dismiss my ship and SRV over to it. Along the way, I ran across an Empire datapoint... scanned and saved, to be turned in at a later date.

On approach to the mountain, I decided to climb its western face...
udDGXv6.jpg

It was quite a ride, and I'll guess I got lucky; because despite the 40 degree inclines faced (50 at some points), I actually made it to the summit at its highest point.

The view west, from where I drove up...
YBkFseA.jpg

...and a glance to the east...
ClVfESI.jpg

Having made it to the top, next was the trip back down... far more scary than the drive up. Following my own tracks back best I could, I made it to the bottom and recalled my ship.
iePAg5t.jpg

This is a view of the mountain afterward; My ship's altitude matches that of the tallest peak (that little point on the right, up top) - where I parked and took the previous pictures, the climb was up/down the left side.
Ie1zHlE.jpg

While this venture gained me nothing, it was a lot of fun, challenging too. I'm looking forward to more such drives/climbs in the future! o7

@Zieman , you're probably right. The last mountain I posted about was 4km in height, this one was only 2km. The gravity on this one was 0.11g, moon-like, and I'll suppose that helped make some of the difference. That last mountain, I don't think I'd have been able to climb it.
