Surface Scanning with Flight Assist

I just discovered that if you use flight assist to get to a planet, then begin to automatically orbit it, you can then use the Surface Scanner while the ship slowly orbits.

I'ts made scanning so much more immersive and interesting! I always used to basically stop the ship and try to shoot using gravity, but now I just let the flight assist orbit, while I fire right where it needs to go!

I didn't find anything in a quick search, so just wanted to post a quick tip.

I usually full throttle to a planet before activating orbit assist, unless I’m doing something. The orbit is pretty good. Think in some cases it’s faster and less probes for sure. You can get every side pretty accurately and get probes exactly on opposite sides. Less overlap.

If you want a laugh, try and get SCA to put you in orbit around Mitterand Hollow...
Last time I tried it flew me into the parent body. Then I attempted to make SCA "hit" the planet, but it still missed.

Much fun was had.
