One month later: Missing paint packs and Tactical Ice & Graphite paints.

Greetings Commanders,

Some paint jobs that were available prior to 3.5 may not be in the store at the moment, but they will arrive in the future. We will regularly be rolling out these paint jobs, along with other new ones, over time. We thank you for your patience and are monitoring your feedback and passing it on to the team!

Thanks!

Is this another one of marketing's bright ideas? As in 'if we gradually re-introduce them each one gets more individual attention.'? I dont personally care about these but its interesting that FD seems to keep going for the 'be as obnoxious and irritating as possible at all times' approach...

They mentioned some time ago that they're using a new method to create the paint jobs. They may be re-creating some of them that have display issues with the new system.

If something terrible happens like the most popular older paints get to be way more expensive, sure, complain about it, but let's not have a wave of pre-complaining based on conjecture.

But... why?

Their new rendering system allows them to create higher resolution paintjobs that allow for cleaner line work (paintjobs made with the old system all have these ugly jagged lines). This would not benefit paintjobs that consist of a single color, so no, this explanation doesn't make any sense. The marketing angle makes more sense, which is really annoying.

I struggle to see why these paints in particular would have display issues, and the response we got doesn't hint at that either.

Asking for an answer is fine, but people are jumping to conclusions and complaining based on pure conjecture and assumption.

Those two tactical colors were the most distinct (and popular) so it does stand to reason that improvements on them would be most visible.

The whole 'they're redoing them to look nicer' theory makes no sense as they are still in-game for people who bought them. So why not for people who want to buy them....
The alternative being making those paints unavailable for people who already paid for them?

It also stands to reason that when consumers ask repeatedly over a month when something that suddenly is no longer for sale will re-appear in a store the official answer goes beyond "well yeah lol its gone now might be back like some day or something.", but here we are. If FD has a problem with people jumping to conclusions they should learn to give actual answers. They've had over half a decade to practice that...

Lets break it down:
Greetings Commanders,

Oh, hello there!

Some paint jobs that were available prior to 3.5 may not be in the store at the moment,

Trust us, they ain't. Not 'may not be' but 'definitely are not'. Its not up for debate, its a fact. Lets take those as starting point for a chat.

but they will arrive in the future.
Yes, we knew that. The question was 'when?'.

We will regularly be rolling out these paint jobs, along with other new ones, over time.
I think we may not have been clear enough. The debate is not about the regularity of releases, but when they will happen.

We thank you for your patience and are monitoring your feedback and passing it on to the team!

In case there is any confusion: the feedback is "it is irritating that a very basic question gets such a non-answer, when do they return to the store?"

Seriously though, I expect such non-responses from politicians. I dont want to buy these paints but this kind of stuff does annoy me on general principle, and makes me less likely to spend money on other stuff by FD. I know its not your fault/choice, but someone up there should start allowing the community team to communicate like a normal person a bit more instead of these faux-professional roleplaying answers. Either way, have a great weekend. :)

So rephrase the question. Not so much "where are these paint packs" but "why are these specifically being delayed". This thread is more or less asking the former, not the latter.

Narrow the scope of the question and maybe we can get an answer that more applies to the information you're interested in. This thread doesn't really seek out that specific information and also kind of complains about the fact that paint packs are broken up so it's a little unfocused.

Plenty of people have asked the latter question across many different threads (including myself, in this very thread) and channels of communication (Twitter, Instagram, etc.) over the last month. Trust me, the issue is not us, it's Frontier.

No, the alternative being to put them back in the store. Holy hell...
He already mentioned putting them back in the store for others to buy. If that is not an option, what I stated was the only alternative. I did not state it is the "only alternative", my response was contextual. "Holy hell" indeed.
