I'd pick the price hike as the most likely as they are probably the best of the Tactical PJ's in my opinion!

It could well be both. Wait until the Midnight Black sale is finished (as some might consider Graphite similar enough even though personally I much prefer MNB - but tactical was cheaper at least), and then release them at mid-tier level, say 1260 or 1820 Arx a pop. It wouldn't surprise me and is what I would do if I were cynical enough.

Bad timing for a cash grab, the ARX price point you've estimated is pretty close to where peoples freebie levels are.

Unless players already spent their Arx balance on other stuff (like I did). Whatever way you look at it though, holding them back doesn't make any sense. People buy them or they use free Arx, that applies to every store item really.

Personally, I don't even rate them that much anyways.

I'll admit to be keeping an eye out for "Black Friday" as I've managed to miss the MNB paint jobs through being too slow in the past - fingers crossed I'll not be so lax this time

It's weird as they're just black (with some not so great inconsistencies visible in certain lighting... not sure if that's deliberate or not) but they're my favourite paints. Blew over 25 Euros on them last year for various ships.

This year I'll focus on Chrome - got a couple of Gold(en?) paints and not sure about them, but if proper Chrome would get released (or even better, the wireframe one for the Cobra)... I'd even hold my nose and buy an Arx pack.

See my previous post on them being gone for improvements... I don't buy that idea personally. It doesn't make sense either, it's a bit like removing Elite from sale while they're working on the 2020 update.

I did 'happen' to be fortunate enough to notice the Golden Krait PJ.... recently 'spent' some free Arx on a PJ for my Challenger... Then spent some real money in stocking up on Arx ready for Halloween, just in case

Got the golden paints for the Conda (ship I hardly ever use) and Cobra Mk3. It depends on the lighting conditions, they can look absolutely fantastic or just a bit drab (latter usually in stations).

Apparently there's a difference between Gold and Golden paints. I think I have the newer versions which aren't as good apparently.

Yeah, good point that crossed my mind also. Would avoid at least some of the backlash if they just nix them and bring the white one back under a different name, as a once off offer or a premium version with some small stripes added to justify a 3280 price tag. So many possibilities eh.

For anyone using freebies its just time playing a game we play anyway, those who feel the need to spend real money on spaceship paint will do it anyway.

If you personally have concerns about your own theorycrafted version of the future pricing structure you should probably wait and see whilst saving up the free ones.

Perhaps they simply forgot to add them. I deem a rework extremely unlikely, as the missing Tactical PJ are all there if you bought them before September. My preliminary theory is that Graphite is just too close to lucrative Midnight Black, but that's just an assumption. About White, I don't know. Hm.

I would buy the Graphite one for the Challenger right now if it were available. 27k ARX left, don't know what to do with them anyway

IMO, Frontier should let us trade a paint of equal value for one of the missing paints when they finally come out. I'm sitting on unused Arx waiting forever for Tactical White / Graphite, but in the meantime I'd settle for a different color to hold me over till they fix this silly oversight.

However, that's probably not going to happen....

They're back in the store for me now, with prices largely in line with the other tactical paints (some exceptions). I see Tactical White replaces Tactical Ice, but I can't see any difference in the actual texture.
