Engineering Under Threat - Open Letter etc

About 40ly is perfect for exploration.

About other stuff.. Maybe they could make shield boosters produce heat, work on heat and scanner mechanics, remove power distributor blueprints.

Why are you so concerned about not having engineering available? Are you that worried that someone out there might have a better ship than you have, are you scared that you might not be at the top of the apex tree due solely on your ability to collect mats?

Because I'm looking for Raxxla, and 20-30 lyr max jump range is never going to cut it.


Also I'm not gonna take 40 years to go from Sol to Colonia
 
Ask yourself that

Easy - Raxxla is hidden inside a system that is currently permit locked. When the permit is lifted (i.e. when FD finish doing whatever they are doing there) then we will find that Raxxla could be a leisurly 5ly jump away.

Makes as much sense as you saying it isn't :D
 
30ly is more than plenty.



Logistics are part of combat too, but even if the game didn't have any combat, I'd still be in favor of reducing jump ranges. Overly rapid travel has really degraded the sense of scale of the galaxy.

This game does not deserve days or even weeks of travel time.

Give us 10 variations of the loading screen, fun and interesting jump scenarios, maybe then, maybe.

I am not in favour of making anything in this game take more time than it already does.

The engineering that makes the size of the galaxy so small that Beagle Point can be bucky-balled in under ten hours is just ridiculous. I agree that some aspects of the game require too much grind, but travel times are out of whack now.

Since the code seems to resemble a huge bowl of pasta now it's probably good if we went back to 2.0 and continue from there.

By doing this we can do engineering, multicrew and the FSS right the first time. 😜
