How many levels in Incursion Tutorial?

Anyone finished this Tutorial? Level 9 already spawns 3 Sideys and 1 Fedfighter, pretty hard with a malfunctioning beam laser and no railgun ammo left ^^

So, how many levels are there and what are the enemies in the last?

Okay next level is a full turreted Anaconda. Guess this will be the last, but have to beat it first. It crushed me in less than 10 secs when I got too close and had the wrong angle ^^

I hadn't even realised rail guns used ammo.

Yeah, that got changed for beta 2. It makes perfect sense now, this weapon is extremly power hungry to accelerate a big slug (which is the ammo) into its' target. They should be the most powerful weapon in the game, I personally can't see why usual cannons could have comparable or even more power. But as I couldn't test cannons of beta 2 yet, I don't know how they are balanced now.

Thanks Iglooman! I won't underestimate the turrets next time ^^

Is there a way to get into the full game without completing the tutorials ?
I bet my chances of getting through 10 levels of combat will involve many many frustrating hours.

Trading, travelling and admiring the view is more of what I want to do
Then build the combat experience slowly

Thanks

You don't need to beat incursion to get online. Good job too, as it took me ages in PB. I must have learned something though as I just made it to level 9 with 100% hull, killed the sidewinders but the Feds had got lost so I couldn't advance.

Save your railgun for the 'conda at the end. Target it's power plant.

Yes the tutorials aren't required, (but are highly recommended) just choose Start at the main menu, then open play, or solo, as per your preferences. Just keep in mind that the servers are a bit tetchy at the moment - some people can't log in, some are getting booted after short periods of play and so on.
It's patch day in a Beta phase of an online game so hiccups are expected I guess.

Yeah, the unstable connection is why I've done all tutorials again, most missions didn't really change in comparison to beta 1. Back in the day, I remember having big trouble with the Incursion mission ^^ Good to see some progress

You don't need to do the tutorials at all. They are really only for beginners I suppose. Its not a full game yet either its still only a beta. There's more to be added so its only going to get better :D

I would agree that Incursion is a good training even for advanced pilots. If you get through this level 5 times in a row, I think there are only a few pilots out there which you should be afraid of ^^

Has anyone actually managed to beat the Anaconda (wave 10) in this game version (2.0x)? Previously you could stay at its rear but that method seems impossible now (not to mention the improved accuracy of the turreted weapons make them extremely punishing).

The only other tactic I can think of trying would be keeping 2-3 km away from it at all times (I presume turreted weapons have severely reduced ranges?).

If anyone does manage to beat it can you post a video of how you did it.

EDIT: Can confirm that sitting 2 km away (maintaining reverse speed at around 40) will let you shoot the anaconda without it firing back. Only thing is that because the rail gun ammo runs out so fast (even if you save all of it for the end) you will be sitting there for 20 - 40 minutes shooting at it with the beam laser before you can destroy it. Also for some reason once I did destroy it there was no pop up saying I had finished the tutorial.

Several of these are not tutorials. They just beat down people trying to learn the basics. You should walk away from the tutorials understanding some concepts and gaining a little skill, not walk away an ace pilot.

I always finish the game tutorials before I jump in to the real thing... am I to understand I'll be forgiven if I skip this requirement?

I wonder if the level difficulty has increased for gamma or I am just an all thumbs player. It took me an hour! to merely get to the 4th wave - those fighters are fast and manoeverable so I never can deliver enough damage to their shields with a beam laser. That boils down to us flying around in circles unable to nail each other any significantly. Just totally ...... me off.
