I find pearl clutching funny.
I had to google that. That is pretty funny.
This isn't though, this is just abuse and should be deleted.
I find pearl clutching funny.
Might be that simple, strange though because from what I have read most weren't that a skilled player anyway. I do laugh at them when they start describing how some new feature is the worst piece of coding that has ever been input, after telling us they haven't played the game in 12 months .....![]()
90% of the mechanics didn't change since release in 2014, even since alpha/beta. Mining and Exploration are the only aspects of the game that had its game mechanics changed.
You don't need to grind to Elite to know how to play the game.
It's not like the game evolved so much.
Braben sits on the bafta board. I think i read somewhere![]()
Influential media types like that probably convinced him to ditch the ADS.

They got a BAFTA for best evolving game IIRC.
Oh, nicely thrown grenade![]()
And that made it an evolving game right?
And who cares about BAFTA LOL
We have no grenades. It was either a missile, a mine or a torpedo.
The only reason I am still posting here is Old Duck and you. The others are predictable but I am always pleasantly surprised with theNot yet, hang on ...
I stick around because I like discussing stuff. I have been on various forums for as long as I can remember and most of those I ended up in the off topic section discussing politics, religion, economy, immigration, terrorism, the lot.
Now the advantage of this place over those other places is, when for instance you have a discussion about , chances are the extremophiles will descend into: "You're a baby murderer", "No, you're a misogynist" territory. While in this place people might call me a coward or a carebear because I prefer a certain game mode. Or a tourist when I don't agree with the direction exploration has taken. Or a Forum Zombie when someone transparently tries to get a rise out of peopleIn that regard posting here is an enjoyable past time, with the insults limited to the way I play a game (or in this case, don't play a game). Which for all intents and purposes is pretty damn mild and quite easy to chuckle and dismiss. I do find it quite telling that in all the possible motivations you came up with, all of them are negative. Dismissing very obvious motivators. Which in turn intrigues me. What possible motivator could you have to paint me and others like me in that light I wonder.
Besides that, there's quite a few oddball characters here who I enjoy talking to.
And lastly, I have seen this in every gaming forum I am a part off. Gaming forums create communities. The community is larger than the game itself. The community consists of people interactions. Those do not disappear the moment someone stops playing a game.
Oh look! How sweet, a reach around
Tell me dear Ratkatcher. Why should I justify my right to post here? Do I not have that right regardless? How about: "because I like to"?
I'm intrigued![]()
This is what I thought as well, but since I was wrong I can nothing do but apologize. My perspective doesn't matter. It was a joke at his expense. Maybe I didn't realise how important it is to him or something else I don't understand. The important thing is that he doesn't find it funny and when you make jokes about someone it's very important they find it funny as well, otherwise you are just mean (hypothetical you, in this case probably me).Its a light hearted jokey thread, that you chose to take part in.
It took me awhile to work out you weren't parodying yourself for humorous effect.
You can't call it static when it breaks all the time!!!Well i dunno about that, but him having connections would explain how a completely static game could even get nominated. Im not going to go and look mind, but frontier stuff does seem to get "nominated" alot doesnt it. And then they use that as advertsing.

CM isn't as bad as some people think. I know plenty of games (some of them VERY successful) were community management doesn't even exist. With FDEV we get weekly livestreams, 10-20 forum posts per week (during betas 50-100), lots of information about upcoming features (usually 3-4 months in advance) and other stuff like free paintjobs and decals. Out of 100 developers Frontier are certainly in the top ten for me.I liked the community management award myself. I definately feel there is a certain sense of humour about these awards, like when obama got the peace prize.
Idk whether to be happy or bummed i didnt make the list....Let's see...
Burke: Add the ADS again!
Robert Maynard: Open PvE sounds like a good idea.
Rubbernuke: How about fixing PP?
Old Duck: I would complain about EBL, luckily I bought a notebook. I suggest everyone should dust off his router at least once per week.
Kenneth: Small Seismic Charges anyone?
Flimley: \o/
Stigbob: There are no bugs if you act like they aren't there.
T.j.: Nothing of this is my fault. (it is)
Yamiks: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheYamiks
NNE: Engineers killed the game.
Stuart: posts meme
Stealthie: Strangely relieved not to be in that list.
M00ka: me too
Ziggy: I just want to watch the world burn Mr. Babelfisch.
Viajero: Viajero? Where are you? Looks in Star Citizen thread Ah, there you are!
Pink haired clowns: Make the game open only or we kill it.
FDEV: Something is going to happen soon, we are so excited.
Sounds very predictable to me.
