Wake Scanning - Countdown Timer?

Nothing more frustrating while farming emissions to blast 25km across space only to have the trace disappear as you hit the scanner, or even worse half way through the scan! It would be nice, if not essential, to have some indication how long the signal is going to remain so you don't waste time chasing those which don't have much time left.

Probably every third or fourth time...

Other option is that the wakes dwell a little longer.

Not essential by any means, but under the category "Would be nice to have..." (for some players).

I scan in a Courier in busy systems - very rare to have a time-out (it does happen) as usually I'm waiting for the next high-wake signal rather than chasing them. But, a quality timer would be good for those odd occasions :)

I've been frustrated by this every time I've tried to scan wakes outside stations (I no longer bother). I think I'd be satisfied if the wake just didn't disappear if I have started scanning it (ie reset it's timer). The thrill of the chase & just missing out on finding out where the reprobate escaped to just isn't something that happens to me, their wakes are easily scanned in plenty of time.
