Gray genetic bars??

I have been trying to find information about the genetic and breeding bars we see when trading animals. This might be a reality dumb question but I don't get what the gray color means. Can anyone give me a hint?
As I remember from the beta it said something like "incapable" when holding the mouse over the bar (I might be wrong ;))
I guess for the fertility gene it actually means it really is infertile regardless of the reading on the bar. But what about if the other bars are gray? - let's say the Immunity gene? :unsure:

I saw some with pretty high numbers - like 80/90-something % that were gray. Would expect them to be green, but maybe 50% is not always the optimum for the different genetic genes... (e.g. the Immunity gene)
I thought something was really wrong with the animals and did not buy them 😂 Turned down some ok ones apparently 🤦

Yeah, it's weird. I'd expect it to be a gradient from red to green. But maybe not for the size gene, as an animal's size doesn't really effect anything, so it should just be gray regardless of the value

Ok thank goodness you confirmed this because I only remembered grey-blue and was wondering how I missed a grey colouring xD

Yeah idk there seemed to be red to green when you had the animal and orange to blue when it was on the trading market and the inconsistency felt weird to me.

Haha sorry if I am confusing you. I saw it as gray. If might have been blue-gray'ish ;)
I did not want to start a discussion wether or not it was logical. I just did not know what it meant, and thought something was "wrong" with the animals. Like maybe infertile.
