The in-game speed of time has remained unchanged as of release day.

Really disappointing that Frontier did not change the time speed after most of the community made it their main complaint honestly. I'm hoping that Frontier can at least respond to this and say if they even intend to change it. Specially since they said they fixed it and tweaked animal lifespans. Players were asking for a big change, not a small increase in lifespans, which will mean nothing with the current speed of time.

I'm watching the live stream on youtube and the time speed does not appear to have changed. The two people on stream right now built a panda exhibit and it took 4 months of in game time to make a small minimal habitat.
I often refrain from saying decisions are wrong by developers. However, the decision to not slow down time was an incorrect design choice by the developers. I am very disappointed by the refusal to consider the feedback by the community.

I don't think it's a problem not wanting to listen to the players, probably certain dynamics of the game are now set so that they can work while maintaining that speed of time. In my opinion, it's a parameter established at the beginning of the development process, but to change it now I think it would mean to change much of the game code. That's not possible if we want to play it today.

Well, the game stems from Planet Coaster, and the engine had a much slower time speed originally, so it can definitely be changed. There may be some balancing requirements, but the time counter itself can be changed "superficially" without affecting those.

Sigh..well that ..is not pleasant news, tho not unexpected from the way they worded the response the other day. Lol ok Paul posted as I was typing so I will wait and try it for myself :)

Hey there. We've made several changes to how things play out in your zoos based on feedback from the community which will become apparent once the game is available to play. We encourage you to wait until the game is live to try it for yourself. :)
Which we thank you gladly with all our hearts, but the time speed is still unchanged, which is what many of us have been asking for so much. It still runs at 3 seconds per day as per the stream. Any increases in the animal's lifespans without changing the time speed will simply be unrealistic, and won't be enough :(

The changes won't be enough. Considering that every other element has been copied over from PC, the game speed could have also been copied. While I am assured that the developers feel that this is a good direction, as someone who spent 80+ hours in beta, the changes will not be enough. I am utterly heart broken that the devs chose to dig their heels in for this mechanic.

I haven't played much of the Beta, so I can't really comment, but it was a problem in Planet Coaster as building from scratch was very time consuming especially when doing theming and it was taking away the management aspect of the game. For something like Franchise mode having people use multiple in game speeds could cause problems.

Certainly, which is why the default and only speed available at the moment should be lowered itself.

Can't people just stick with requests and not state stuff like everybody has the same opinion.

Because I do not.

Don't expect them to update it to your liking at all.
I don't expect them to be to my liking. But let me reiterate, many, many people were asking for this. Most people wanted slower times according to polls. It's a big issue with the game many people have, so I want Frontier to fix it, and that's why I'm asking for it. Because if you don't ask for it, they will never know.

Im glad they didn't change the speed. Please do not pretend that those complaining represent the community as a whole.
True, not everyone wants slower time. But so far, it really seems the majority do, from the polls and threads that have been made. I won't deny that some people are happy with the current speed. But many of us are not okay with it, and so we will speak out against it, and that is the purpose of these game forums. To opinion on the game, regardless of whether or not different opinions exist.

Many people were asking not all, some were quite happy with it as well also they may have been a "silent" majority why complain when you have what you want - ALSO Planet zoo BETA was NOT planet zoo. Beta was missing loads the addition of loads may have slowed it down some we don't know.

Before complaining trust their judgement as to THEIR game if you don't like how they have written THEIR game then write your own. lets see how it plays before complaining about what might be

Of course many features were different in the Beta than in the now full release. But we're talking about something that was the same, and today, is still present, and that's the time speed.

"Before complaining trust their judgement as to THEIR game if you don't like how they have written THEIR game then write your own. lets see how it plays before complaining about what might be"
This argument has been used countless times for everything, and it just doesn't work- "If you don't like X, then why don't you make you own X". Criticism exists for a reason. Sure, the developers have their own judgement, but we the community are the ones who buy the game. We're giving criticism of what we want changed. Might as well remove the entire feedback forum if their judgement is supreme.

To be honest, the last thread that was about this was dominated by one person, and some others kept talking in circles for pages.

That does not mean everybody that read or responded in that thread shares the same opinion.

"Many, many people" is how many excactly?

"but we the community are the ones who buy the game. We're giving criticism of what we want changed.

And Frontier is in no way obliged to listen.
