Are you freaking serious ?

First when the game loaded and I was at the menu, I already noticed you guyz messed up. There was this weekly challenge which asked me to breed : {count} bengal tigers.

{count} ... ? seriously ? You are launching a game and the first thing we see is right into our eyes, it's not finished.

Ok.. let's start playing to see how that goes.. opening a new franchise, new zoo, building first stuff.. and discovering in a few minutes that I can't buy any animal !
Why ? well, I can't select them .. can't even click on filters.
Guess what ... since your implementation of windowed mode was crappy and I already talked about it here, I knew this was the culprit.. I went to fullscreen and BOOOM .. I could select animals and filters.. Back to windowed mode.. BOOOOom .. Can't click

ARE YOU SERIOUS ???
Take one or two more months if you need but provide a proper release.

It's difficult to expect the game to have no problem with the release, I think the best attitude is to support a game that interests us rather than criticize it. Frontier gives users the opportunity to report any problems, it takes 2 minutes, it does not seem to me a wrong policy. We can have a little patience.

I totally would have patience to wait even one year if it was to have a finished product that I paid for, hell, I even pledge for Star Citizen. However when I see errors (and one preventing me to play) on the first minutes after the release. I have the right to criticize the way game editors are behaving these days compared to 15-20 years ago. They release unfinished games with the idea that "if there are issues, players will tell, we'll fix" .. that's so wrong.

Meanwhile I am gonna go play Zoo Tycoon 2. I guess I'll wait a few weeks / months till they fix all the stuff going on. Check out forums and chat on Steam, it's not only about my issue, there are plenty.

People don't want to pay to be bug testers though. It's launch day and Frontier said this game would be ready. Sure the odd bug can be overlooked but we're seeing stuff leftover from the beta. They could have delayed the game if needs be but they didn't.

Honestly I think the major backlash here is those of us in beta who spent a lot of our time working with the game, reporting bugs, and typing out very detailed feedback are seeing that very little has changed at all between then and now.

Other than the new game mode which was added over feedback about Franchise mode, which is a good addition, pretty much nothing else has changed. The top issues and concerns all still remain, and many of the bugs as well.

I played Sandbox Mode straight away (after a bad experience with Franchise during beta it put me off the mode.. ) and I could purchase them no matter the size of the screen...But if it works in full screen mode why don't you just play that way? 🤨

because I don't want to be forced to play Fullscreen by a game that does allow Windowed Mode just because it's badly made.

The first thing I did when the Zoo was started (and empty, obviously) is to test wether they took my complain from the beta into account.. guess what, nothing has been done and it's still the same crap. (not related to that thread, besides the fact it's a windowed mode issue)

After several crashes, trying to place Blueprints with a lot of parts, I'm unsure if I should do the same, which I did with Planet coaster in the past. Wait another year?

If you couldn't play the game in both fullscreen and windowed then I'd understand....But If it was me I would just accept the fact that I would have to play with that one size (be it windowed or full. I personally prefer full). Considering you can still play the game in fullscreen...It just seems like you're nitpicking now so you have something else to complain about. 🧐

Don't get me wrong, the full version still has it's problems. Even stuff carried over from the beta. But this could be considered a small problem against other things that are more major to the gameplay (Because you are still able to play it while in another screen mode - so not a huge biggie).

It's clear, but there is no bug-free game at D1. Rather than developers taking time to discover them all, I prefer there to be a system where players can report them. I understand that the situation is not so tragic as to delay the game. You paid for it, that's true, but if you're not satisfied with the current state of the game, you can ask for a refund.

You can't really compare modern development and 15-20 years ago, when development has gotten so much more advanced and complicated over the years. There's dozens upon dozens of different computer builds that developers have to take into account now when developing, along with much more advanced game engines and programming that open up higher and higher chances of bugs to occur.

And honestly you shouldn't expect any game to be 100% finished on release nowadays. If that's not something you're into, then wait a year. It sucks yeah but that's how things are. It's a reason why PZ is the first game I've bought at release in years. I like the idea and the developers enough to play it even with all its issues.

That's the truth of it. Games shipping when they were 100% ready in the eyes of the developers ended with the rise in popularity of the internet; as soon as patching stopped being something you did via a magazine coverdisk, that ship sailed. Now games are released when they're as close to finished as time and budget allow, usually with critical showstopping bugs eliminated but with a smorgasbord of issues that will come to light when the playerbase engage with the content.

In some ways it's no bad thing; back in the day if a game had an approaching release deadline and an aspect wasn't working, it would just be dropped. Forever. The trade-off is nobody can expect to buy a game on day one and have a flawless experience. It is what it is and like you, I don't buy anything on release these days. I'd rather wait and pick it up a) after three or four significant patches and b) probably in a Steam sale.

There is a huge difference between a normal "not quite done" release and a game that takes in lots of feedback from passionate players during beta and does.. nothing with it. There was a lot of really good, well presented, feedback posted during beta. It is frustrating when you see pretty much all the top issues from beta are still present.

Best I can tell they spent the entire time since beta building the new game mode, which to be fair was based on beta feedback about Franchise mode, and that was all they had time for.

Maybe... and some issues or "not implemented functions" are maximum for 5 minutes, because in other menu exactly same function works like this https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/6362 ... And You can't say anything, they just skipped it

Look, I get that you're annoyed and understand why but beta was what, a fortnight long and ended four weeks ago? That is not a sufficient timescale within which to fix everything that would have been raised from beta feedback. Not even close. I'm not shilling for them here or anything; for a start it raises the question of whether a release was justified or whether it should have been delayed, just saying a bit of realism is needed about what can be done in that sort of timescale.

And I'm saying I would agree with you if they addressed some issues but not others, but as has been pointed out many times they addressed basically NONE of the issues from beta.

I have been in tons of betas for games, and I'm saying that the progress shown in this game from beta until release is abnormal. Far, far less than is normal to see.
