I wonder what happened to some Crystalline Shard locations in wiki

I needed some more raw mats and decided to do a Crystalline Shard run. I had one system name saved in a text file since last run - Trifid of the North Sector DL-Y d5 and marked that it has Yttrium and Antimony. I am 100% sure I copied it from Wiki a few months ago, but now I don't see it on the list and also Sol distance somehow disappeared from there:

Did somebody delete things from Wiki to keep best places for himself? /tinfoil

On the bright side, when I actually went there, all shards were 100% dropping something. Either this got fixed in the game, or keeping the best spots for yourself actually makes sense.

NVM, I see the guy who had to ruin everything in the history.

Now that wiki apparently got contaminated by clever ******s, is anybody maintaining a full list somewhere?

Use the Spansh Body Search to look through the extensive Database of confirmed locations for any area within a defined Radius : https://www.spansh.co.uk/bodies
AFAIK only actual Codex Scans performed by Players who are hooked up to EDDB/EDSM etc. enter this Database, so it remains reliable unless FDev implements changes to the Galaxy.

Filter Settings :
  • Reference System = any location known to EDDB/EDSM (Spansh does imports daily I believe, so a brand new System might not show up)
  • Distance = desired Search Radius around above location
  • Landmark type = Crystalline Shard

You don't even have to go outside of the game to find some.
Just use the Codex, it has them listed per galactic region.
In Codex I only see like one shard in Sanguineous Rim and there are dozens discovered there. It shows ether the ones I already visited, or some other subset. Useless, as expected from Frontier code.

This one is almost exactly what I was looking for, thanks. Except it looks like the material type is not in the database. Now I just need to make sure all shards from old Wiki are there and also figure out how to take backups in case the same person shows up there to mess things up.

Oh it has ;)

It's just in another Tab "Materials" right of "Main Fields" where you need to set it. Although not needed for Crystalline Shards, you could even specify the desired percentage on the Planet.
Getting comfy with all the possible Search Parameters takes a little while - but once done it's by far the most potent and comprehensive Body Search Tool for ELITE.

Nice. There is still a small problem that material is from the planet contents and not necessary from the shards. i.e. I can find some for Selenium and they all are for something else I think.

Oh, okay... If there's two competing High-Grade Elements then that's indeed an issue, nothing left then but trial Candidates until you find what you need I'm afraid.

But (like any other Geological or Biological Site) the Shards will only ever yield a High-Grade Element off whatever that specific Planet offers, so it can still be narrowed down a bit.

(checking the Planet Elements beforehand (i.e. EDSM/EDDB) should help to focus on candidates without competing High-Grade Elements, IMHO that's the only way to narrow it down as good as possible)
