Combat Kill Count?

o7

Is there any way, in-game or external (Inara, EDDiscovery), to see how many registered kills we have?
The Codex only shows bounties collected but that info is meaningless to me.

Thx.

I think if you add your combat bonds count to your bounties and also assassinations count that should be the figure.

Aha, now that I look at it, you might be right. Maybe the "Bounties Claimed" threw me off. I eventually always claim my bounties
even if it's 3 weeks later lol.

Ok that out of the way, how many do we need to get to Elite? I'm 70% Dangerous as we write.

Thx.

Approximately 6500 if you farm them in a high or has RES, cz or compromised nav beacon. It's a lot fewer if you kill thargoid scouts, though they do become a bit boring after a while.

Depends who do you destroy.
You get XP points for destroying targets with ranks relative to your rank. 1 point for killing targets equal to you in rank, +0.25 for any rank above yours, -0.25 for any rank below yours.
As Dangerous you don't get any XP for killing Novice or below.

That doesn't count for any kills that don't fall under that - if you're attacked by a pirate in a lawless system that won't count, if you commit a murder then generally that won't be listed (unless it's an assassination), if you don't manage to cash your bonds before accidenting yourself into an interceptor then the kills for your bonds won't be counted, etc.

.. and all his ganking kills....
Yeah, was wondering about that as well and decided to jog on. I thought this was another troll thread meant to end up in a handbag brawl about whatever, since the way they sub-categorized the kills in Codex seemed pretty obvious, to me. Only thing one can't deduce is the amount of 'murders' one committed. Something that was logged in the passed and prolly still is, but isn't shown anymore. For whatever reason.

edit
Pah, ninjaad, sort of.

I'm 70% Dangerous as we write.
You still have 2/3 to go.

ISTR a previous thread in which it was claimed that Frontier made a conscious decision not to include a pure kill count because they didn't want record number of kills without regard to the circumstances to become an object of competition in itself.

Combat Elite is obtained by experience points which greatly effect the total number of kills. Scroll down the ED Wiki combat page to see the chart. Note that Trader and Explorer Elite are obtained by earning credits.

No trolling at all, not my style, but after looking at it again after Friedenreich's suggestion, it was pretty obvious. Just a noob moment on my end.

All righty then 2/3 left. I'm in no rush. Never liked the term "end game" in Elite anyway. Plenty other things to play with between pew sessions.

Just ordered a TM Hotas X for the wife today. Looking forward to some wing-up fun with her.

Thx CMDRs

That'll be fairly close, but doesn't include ships that you kill in anarchy systems, nor some mission targets.

Granted, but I think for most commanders those don't count for much. Innocent commander kills on the other hand... there are a few commanders who would have decent stats in that category.

My CMDR has at least 10k NPC kills where there was no bounty or bond rewarded, much of it from BGS work (a lot of police blood on his hands), some from testing, others for materials, a few because he doesn't like to leave survivors/witnesses.

Don't know the total but when you reach Deadly you are half way to Elite as each level is double the one below.

At the start of the year I said “September”.

65% done.

And no play tonight. Not last night. Not the night before.
Last Friday maybe?

For future reference, I've done it four times, mostly by bounty farming. Each time showed between 6500 and 7000 bounties when I got the Elite message. As I said, that's farming in high RES, Haz RES and CNB where the NPC ranks are above average. It's true that you get different points for different NPCs, but the mix always averages out to a consistent level over that many.

I just ranked up my 4th NPC crew. It took around 1100 Thargoid scouts to go from harmless to Elite, which seemed to be a lot quicker than normal bounty farming, but I never counted before to make a comparison. NPCs rank up faster than yourself. Anyone know what the ratio is?

The count of the three activities will be highly inaccurate. It takes the average commander about 8000 kills to reach Elite. Any kills you made but were then killed yourself before handing in bounties/mission completions/bonds will also not have been counted (I realise that will have been very few, just saying).

Just a reminder that if you use an NPC fighter pilot they will halve the ranking points you get for each kill they are active and on your ship for.
