It was confusing in beta and its just as confusing now. In beta I think many people thought that the ones that showed the potential as basically the full range were because of inbreeding and we just didn't know because we had no way to track the family tree.
Now we still don't have a way to track but the game does indicate in the compare mates screen if the pair is inbreeding or not. But even on pairs that are not indicated as inbreeding, the fertility range is huge. I have two gold tigers both with a fertility of 83%, and no inbreeding warning, yet the potential range is basically 0-83%
Is fertility just always a total crapshoot? In which case why should I even care about inbreeding.
