You can't ask for help here. People here have been playing Elite for too long. They have joined the PvPers and their "Git Gud"-crowd.

But yeah, filter GalMap for "famine" state, choose the most inhabited one, scan the nav beacon there and you'll see the distribution center, if there are any.

There is a difference between asking for assistance and asking for your hand to be held (and if things go according to plan, having someone else do all the hard work for you)

Let's give the OP the benefit of the doubt that he genuinely didn't know how to find DC's and wasn't asking for someone to play the game for him (which he litterally didn't ask for). It's not like everything is hinted ingame (far from it in fact) and according to INARA the OP is as much of a newbie as one can be.

Lets consider that the OP understands the game well enough to know that a distribution center is one of the better places for farming encoded mats. That would indicate that the OP has done this type of activity on prior occasions. That fact would mean that the OP has the means, and the ability to find distribution centers himself yet he wants one handed to him on a silver platter.

Let's consider that the OP searched for data, read somewhere they can be found in DC's but without precision as to where to find DC's. When assuming stuff about someone, I tend to assume positive intents first until I'm proven wrong. This serves a better athmosphere.

Granted, he missed searching further down the internet. But asking in the forums is a legitime way of prospecting for intel, IMHO. No need to be gruff.

Quite right, he did miss searching. A very simple search on this very forum would have revealed the answer:

Following the recent II we now have active Famines in multiple systems, with more probably on the way.

For those that don't know - Famines can cause Distribution Centres to spawn - these POI spawn a lot of wakes - so are a great source of DWE (Datamined Wake Exceptions) and other Wake-based data mats. Bring a wake scanner :)

Current systems with Distribution Centres (ping the FSS if you don't see them immediately, or else get within 1000 ls):

Baijungu, Ensoreus, Lei Zi, LFT 37, HIP 75132, Wolf 186, Kwangwutii and Falendal

Yes the information might be out of date regarding the systems but the mechanism mentioned in the post is still valid. Heck there was even a link to the EDDB search results.
