I’d pay for my complete PS4 account to be transferred to PC: think this will ever be offered?

I’ve invested too much time in my PS4 account to start from scratch but I’d love to move to PC and get a VR setup. I know I can get my account liquidated and take the cash across but I want to take the whole account across!

I’d pay for this service if it were offered - due to the amount of time I’ve put in, I don’t think £50-£100 would be too hard to swallow and I’d pay it.

C’mon Fdev - let us console commanders make the move to PC properly (or implement crossplay at the very least so at least my universe is a bit more populated - if you don’t want to mix us with PC players, at least put all console players together, but that’s another request for another day).

I don't think its a technical issue at all. The data gets send to somewhere, and stored somewhere else. I can't believe they had to build separate data models, databases and all related CRUD plumbing for each and every platform. It probably is just for strategic/legal reasons why it isn't done. If it isn't done at all that is, I thought I had seen transfers happening, but that could have been from xbox to pc. Could be wrong there as well.

Past occurrences, where people have actually be able to log-in and use non-PC accounts on PC just as if they were loaded from their native platform, strongly suggest that there is nothing to transfer. Indeed, I'd be surprised if any of the account info/database were different between platforms except for an identifier whose only purpose was to prevent full cross-platform play.

It's almost certainly a legal/contractual/licensing issue preventing one from loading a single account on any platform, rather than a technical one.

Perhaps I'd just hoped it was complicated and somehow the console data was in some way directly incompatible with the PC as that would mean that there was a good reason we don't have crossplay.

Which would be entries on a database that are linked to an account id. Change the account to be able to login on a PC, and the rest follows automatically (since account ID hasn't changed).

That was my understanding. A mate routinely got his account switched between XB and PC, coz he had two different groups of friends playing, so he'd switch between the two.
