What other games are we all playing?

I'm still playing Skyrim, ripping bandit scum up as a werewolf and scoffing their hearts...quite fun ;)

Was reading a reddit thread about it the other day.

It almost made me reinstall.

Until i rememebered all I would end up doing would be to spend dozens of hours downloading different mods and not actually play the game itself.

Playing Tropico 6, one of the few 2019 releases that didn't disappoint me.
Finished all missions, except the one where you need to please 4 factions at once (standing over 75 or something) - cool game, but after tropico4-5 it's all the same pretty much. Low replayability.

I prefer playing on sandbox mode, I find it has near infinite replayability. I keep starting new islands and can't get enough of it. But I guess it's a matter of personal preference, I always loved the Tropico series, and each iteration keeps improving.

Yesterday, as I contemplated how to recover my flying miner, I considered three options:

The first was to disassemble it, then reassemble it in a safe location, correcting some of its design flaws. I dismissed this as boring.

The second was to Kerbal it out of that location. I decided I wouldn't learn anything that way, so that became plan "B."

Plan A was to adapt my Rover into a miner, and rescue it that way. So I attached a couple drills on the front, drove to the shallow trench my flying my flying miner dug before it decided to pitch down into the ground, and started digging. This is the result:

Gravity is a harsh mistress. :p In case you can't tell, it's on its back, after pitching down just like my flyer did. Woke up this morning realizing exactly what the major flaw in both designs are: the front inventories filled up first, which caused both vehicles to pitch down. With all the weight in front of the Rover's front wheels, of course it would pitch down. And once it reached vertical, with the rover being slightly top heavy, it would tip over the rest of the way once I started moving its inventory manually.

I did try to Kerbal the flyer out of there after this disaster, but to no avail. I'll be dismantling both vehicles (the rover needed to be redesigned anyways) and rebuilding both from scratch. There's a sorter block I haven't played with yet, so that should ensure that the weight distribution will be more even.

If I can get both vehicles working the way I want them to, I'm thinking of upping the challenge by restarting on the alien planet in the solar system. And perhaps adding enemies in as well. Time to add more survival challenges to this survival game!

I mentioned this elsewhere, but I ran into a similar problem early on in the game (and was darn impressed that the game actually tracks center-of-mass), so I built a cargo system reminiscent to ballast tanks on a submarine. It put a big grin on this old sailor's face :D

With the right mods, it's probably (outside of racing sims) my all time favourite game. I have had it for yonks and only this playthrough have I turned off the compass and "floating markers"...makes a huge difference in immersing myself in the game...currently level 61 and not even started the main quest yet!! It's keeping me off from exploring Utah in ATS!!

Ah, ATS, i've played it a bit but not got any expansions. Prefer ETS, playing on the home turf as it were ;)

I've got both, all expansions for both as well, class games for chilling out (and cussing traffic lights). ATS is a better looking game, and I like the varied scenery unlike Europes constant greenery! I havn't trucked in the UK map much recently as the graphics are so dated, but I'm hoping the future revamp of UK comes soon after Germany.

Meanwhile, over in World Of Warplanes:

Our team just lost a match by three points. I cleared three areas, and got (more) awards for high-grade pilot. Would have had 5 times XP if we had won. Yes, I carried the team. No, I'm not going to PVP in open.

I still have my 92% win rate in Boats, and I'm going to stay solo there as well. :)

it doesnt matter what games I play, Im not teaming with you anyway, what a question to ask anyway, convincing players to look elsewhere and spend their time on other games, jog on and go play your other games, I really dont give a stuff.

some rap rhymes, but failed

Is this Destiny 2 any good?

Depends. If you like looter shooters (where the main gameplay loop is collecting and upgrading gear with a modicum of story? Yes. That said free version has IMHO excellent singleplayer campaign The Red War. And it's worth playing through that alone. Lore is also fleshed out on the form of different collectibles etc.

The "shooting" part of said shooter is really good. Different classes of weapons, different damage types and a perk system makes for very satisfying gameplay.

The graphics part? Destiny in 4k HDR is one of the most beautiful games I played. I love the art style, IMHO it is done by a very talented and creative graphics team. Clearly worth downloading for the sights alone. And if you like the gameplay part (and there's lots to do), you might be hooked.

As for what is there to do in the free version, the answer is quite a lot. So give it a try, I know the download might be a lot to stomach, but I think it's worth it.

I keep hitting surface targets, while inverted (or insane attitudes), in Planes. So some part of RL is still with me. :)

That's the spirit! Do you play DCS in VR by any chance? That should be the closest thing to your former passion, minus the need to AGSM 😁 It can also be flown solo using community missions but I think you know that by now 😁
