The in-game speed of time has remained unchanged as of release day.

When that "poll" was made, I was originally on the side of the 10 second year. However, after playing for a while now I am fine with the time as it is. The animals don't seem to die overly quickly anymore and they breed as a pretty good rate. I'd be fine if it stayed as it is.

There has been a few people in this thread saying they’re ok with the speed as it is, so even though I want it slowed, we should probably ask for a option to lower base game speed in the settings, keep everyone happy that way.

An update released today, and still no mention about this issue?
Hey everyone... oh here are so many threads about that topic I forgot about this one, sry 🙈...

I saw the stream yesterday and Bo replied in the chat to that time question, Frontier is aware of it and they currently work/figuring out the issue we talk about here. Bo replied further, that she can't say more to it at moment, but I think we will hear more to it when decisions are made. 🙂

I was lucky I saw it in the chat 😅 but I knew probably many have not seen it, so I figured to tell people here, since nothing was written to it anywhere else. Like we saw today Frontier is working hard on fixes/updates, so I guess there is not much time to inform us here.

I hope it helps a little bit, sorry I forgot about this thread. 😊

You're a good person. Thank you :)

Hello everyone.
I just registered today on forum despite that I do not have this game, to tell the truth I do not like to write on a forum whatever it is.
But there really, I almost bought it of a crush, because I find it very beautiful meme of close and the idea to build it from A to Z enthusiastic and to be able to watch the animals lived and pampered in their paddocks was blowing me with pleasure.
The big problem according to what I understand, 1 day lasts only 3 seconds and 20 minutes for 1 year?
It's like-a-lap on my favorite simulator counted like 10 or 15 rounds, hello trouble, I would not have 1350 hours on it.
Now I'm going to wait if it changes in a few months or years at a low price, although I originally planned to buy it at a high price tonight to help them.
I thank all those who have been honest in their comments and who have saved me from being disappointed and I agree with them for an extra button for a more realistic speed, which means days and years that last longer.

@Hort6 The game isn't bad. It's a great game to play. The speed is a minor inconvenience and a lot of people are really making a big deal over it.

I personally would like it slower or at least an option for slower gameplay. The only time the speed of the game becomes an issue is when your zoo has lots and lots of animals, it then becomes a little hard to manage with all the babies being born, diseases, fighting for alpha status etc.

If you keep your zoo relatively small you'll be perfectly fine. You can have multiple zoos so why not just have only the animals you really want or like in one. Or have all of the African animals in one, all of the Asian animals in another.

If you're not buying the game simply because of the speed and how people are over exaggerating about it then I'd say you're really missing out. There are quite a few reasons to not buy the game right now, which are mainly bugs and only really affect franchise and challenge mode, sandbox is mostly playable. However these are only bugs and are being fixed pretty quickly.

I'm sorry for not translating and I hope you manage to translate this.

Isn’t quite a problem that, in a zoo simulator game, you cannot keep even medium zoos or recreate any real ones because only small zoos are feasible at the current speed?

I would say is indeed a huge problem and a valid reason to not buy the game.

every real life minute i have to pause to sell animals... and i havent even filled a quarter of the area... so when you got a full zoo you can play about 5 seconds and then have to pause for 5 minutes to look through ur animal list to sell or release animals. fun game isnt it? ...its beyond me how you can think that this is a fun game speed... it needs to be at least 5 times slower if not 10 or more.

Because its not pausing it every 5 seconds. It's literally not. I get the time could be slower and yes I'm an advocate for it like I keep saying, I'd more than love to have 1yr = 1 hour that'd be my most preferred time speed.

Rather than have every animal breeding, put some on contraceptives, make sure you have proper work zones, make sure maintenence is set for every 3 months and if you play on normal speed you'll have a good time until you get a large zoo.

Everyone's making out like the game isn't worth playing at all because of the time and sure that might be you're opinion and you're entitled to feel that way. For me, the games definitely worth the admission price even if the speed remains. There's always sandbox where you don't really have to worry about anything major, the building and planning and executing the dynamics and scenery of the zoo is top notch and there's next to no other games with this level of customisation. If you're into that more than staring at the animals then you'll have a great time. The speed only really does become an issue when you start wanting a medium to large zoo. If you're happy enough to keep it at a maximum of a medium size then management, on the slowest speed, is tolerable providing you actually put the management in yourself to ensure the zoo runs fine.

Like I said you're entitled to your opinion and I respect it but there's no need to, and this isn't aimed at anyone in particular it's aimed at most people, to exaggerate the how bad the speed of time is. If it was as bad as everyone's making out I'm pretty sure Frontier would have seen the issues with it and not released the game with this time issue.

saying that theres sandbox is like saying "hey the game sux but when you use cheats its ok"...

and to be fair, when using 4-6 habitats the speed is ok. but fill half the map or even fill it completely and the game is unplayably broken. that cant be intended, can it? oh yeah right... there sandbox...

and when 90% of ur playerbase thinks that the speed is wrong and you dont adjust it... guess how many of those will buy your next game... i can definitely say that i dont buy stuff from publishers anymore that disappointed me badly. thats why i dont buy anything anymore from EA, Bethesda and Blizzard. And if this doesnt get changed frontier comes onto that list. and looking how publishers nowadays treat their customers that list will be growing rapidly.

just look through the countless threads, the likes on them and the issue tracker and then look at the player numbers via steam.

What about all those threads that have maybe 100 'likes' when there are more than 38,000 players of the game according to Steam? Anyone who claims 'the majority of players want' this that or the other is falsely attempting to misrepresent what the actual majority of players want!

38k players at launch. now its less than half of that. guess why? lol. if you read charts, read them correctly pls.
losing 50%+ of the playerbase in 2 weeks is really bad.
