Question about EDSM records

Does EDSM automatically recognize if you find a planet / system or other discovery that breaks a previous record? Or is it necessary to manually enter information with proof? I'm on Xbox if it matters. o7

If you are running EDD or some other journal-reading app that automatically feeds data to EDSM, then yes, the EDSM record is updated, instantly.

Not sure which apps work on XBox.

You need some way for your journal data to be transferred to EDSM. I think the "manual route" is to click on the "Upload journal" link in your links on the EDSM page; I'm afraid I don't know what XBox users are "supposed to do".

I don't think it does it INSTANTLY, I think it processes the data on a schedule for the Records page/badge. So it won't be a long time, but I don't think it's immediate.

OK, so for Xbox, you need to do the following:

So go to EDSM, click the 'Register' menu item under the little mugshot on the right.
Then select Xbox as platform, then select Frontier Auth Service as your Authentication service. Add email + name, accept privacy policy, click register.
Then you will go to a frontier website.
Click on the Xbox icon. This will redirect you to the MS website. Enter your MS account details. Accept that Frontier/EDSM can access your data.
Then on your PC, go to My Account -> Console Updater, and keep that open while you play on your Xbox.
