Fine idea, I would love for more CMDR impact on the galaxy. That'd be a flat 'no' to all three. What we do need is outpost evolution (not a "oh, let's put another Colonia here", or "let's jump Jacques II to there") so when more than x Commanders have been to a given star/planet, a small outpost springs up there. When y more have visited the outpost, it grows or more outposts spring up. That would be cool - and those numbers could work from now or a date in the future, rather than taking into account any who have already been.
One question, EDSM is feed only by those PC players who have their software reporting, isn't It?From EDSM:
0.011485% of the galaxy has been discovered on EDSM, it will take 38,499 years, 6 months, 26 days to discover it entirely.
Elite 1984 has the answer. Add more galaxies.
The problem is that the remaining 99.988515% is just a copy-paste of what has already been discovered. Don't expect anything fancy out there...From EDSM:

Under no circumstances should the Galaxy ever be reset.
This.
The people who found places/things are the people who found them.
End of.
People being what they are, if FDev announced that they were going to reset the galaxy, all that'd happen would be that a bunch of tossers would flock to every significant location in the galaxy in an attempt to get their name on it in place of the person who actually discovered it.
And that would be completely intolerable.
It's bad enough when FDev start a beta and people spend their time desperately hunting for new stuff so they can get their name on it when the update goes live.
In my proposal the galaxy (the procedural part, not the hand crafted content) should be reset and then generated again with a new seed so you won't find the same places again, instead you should have slightly different features in different places with everything to be rediscovered again.
The point is that it would be inconsistent to add something new to a system already discovered and visited (near the bubble or the big nebulae).TBH, if FDev were in the mood to do something like this, I'd rather they just added more stuff - even wacky stuff - to the existing galaxy.

I already find it crazy to lock entire sectors to reserve them for future contents. The day FDEV will say that they unlocked some sector with new contents it will be like a party in there...

5-6 years later yes.. But with a plan to regen the galaxy every 5-6 years would assure new variety and new discovery at every cycle. There is 99% of an unexplored galaxy to add stuff to if need be
How would resetting the Galaxy change the below for you?
Resetting the Seed will still give you the ability to complaint about it being a just a copy-paste of what has already been discovered
Actually I kinda get the want for another galaxy.Yet now we have players who want something new, so they are asking for another galaxy. Guess what, that will be basically identical in looks to this one since FD have always tried to be as realistic as they can regarding the galaxy.
