Is this stable enough to play now

Keep it simple, and don't be to picky. My staff, keeper, caretaker, mechanics and veterinarians do their jobs. Biggest problem for me is the public. But it seems they are slowly getting better. I believe the guard works too, but I personally only have seen it once.

Yeah I would wait of until purchasing this! I’m sick of removing paths where guests get randomly stuck! I wondered why my park was full of guests! It’s because none could actually leave!

I would recommend to wait until tomorrow. There is a really bad Bug where all Guests want extremely high refunds. Maybe there will be a Update tomorrow that fixes it
we'll have to wait till monday for a chance at there being an update for the game-breaking bug.

I have not played for a while because of all bug/glitch's it has and thought maybe frontier iron out some. So I guessed I'll wait more and let it sit in my steam library still.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
SO MANY BUGS!
Give it some time. It may or may not ever be worth the money.
I wish I could get my money back as it's not worth a dime in it's current state.

I am not having many issues with the game but I am pretty experienced and know how to work round a lot of the current issues, I dont use many barriers, most staff buildings are in areas no guests want to go etc. My v large zoo is playing ok, refunds hit me pretty hard, was losing 200k+ at one point but once i did a couple of happiness passes over the whole zoo, adding more education / toilets / drinks / improving scenery on rides and queues etc I have got it down to 30k which is manageable with exhibit / animals sales. Dont think it should be too much of an issue making a new zoo for a new player, a lot of the issues are happening with older pre patch zoos.

Going to be honest I am LOVING the game, the best builder I have ever played BUT I will not pretend the game doesnt have issues, I am prepared to work around them when I really shouldnt have to. Luckily I done a bit of game dev and know how to bug fix.

Things like;
  • Poor detection of habitat space - eg my chimp climbing towers and then feeling overcrowded (fixed by rebuilding and retesting habitat)
  • Feeding issues - I have always been able to solve any issue I have had with feeding and a lot of it was my fault BUT there are some issue with I believe keeper AI paths which cause a problem, mostly on uneven surfaces.
  • Refunds - I dont mind playing a more competitive game financially, and I think my zoo is actually better since I had to give it a massive overhaul to keep it going BUT refunds are still too high and guest happiness is a bit off, particularly when a lot of the refund issue are actually caused by new bugs (the staff paths bug and broken barriers both cause events that will trigger higher refunds)
So my advice would be, if you are going to start a new zoo and are prepared to monitor and possibly have to rebuild areas which arent working, then it is an awesome game. I do have a lot of sympathy for people who have given up on it, what i would say to those is, come back in a few weeks there is a gem of a game in here somewhere.

From an overall overview, yes this game is stable enough.

There are unbalanced features (refunds) and some major/minor bugs.
Refunds/escaping animals/feeding seem to be the biggest issues at this moment.
(never had feeding issues, they fill up everything in my zoo)

Like Moosegun, i experimented with some stuff to work around some bugs.

Some people are still experiencing a lot of crashes or instability issues. Those are the worst !

Personally, still hoping for an update to fix my main zoo. (i have the infinite loading bug with this one, the 2 others work perfectly)
And the escaping animals are annoying but I can afford the refunds costs when it happens..
The other bugs are workable for me, but with the last update more bugs..

I would wait until the next update, and check the forums for the latest issues..

I have almost no bugs. If it's stable or not or how many bugs you have is - as with almost every game on the market - also based on luck, I recommend Planet Zoo to anyone who would enjoy the game play of it.
This largely captures my experience as well. The bugs are, fortunately, quite minimal and do not disrupt my enjoyment.

Now just to put that into perspective since my experience differs from what some others are stating: I've logged 82 hours, mostly in a single franchise with a single zoo. It turns a profit, is just shy of 5 stars and has been going for several in-game decades. The guests largely love it, but could do for more food stands and education. All of my staff have green smiley faces.

The few big problems I've had were certainly my fault (both times due to an improper work zone; one where my wild dogs didn't have any staff and another where the restrooms had no caretakers assigned; ugh!). One game breaker I had was a staff-to-public path transition where my staff would bunch up and not cross. I re-routed the path and all was fine since.

My playing consists of me trying to make a beautiful zoo while getting at least one or two "wins" on the community challenge. I don't feel the need to power-game through the challenges. I managed only a single panda birth last week because I spent most of my time building the habitat which, for me, was a lot of fun and is now the most attractive area of my zoo as far as I'm concerned.

Am I bug free? No, of course not. The refunds seem a little high considering their happiness heat maps. Trash and vandalism aren't easy to stay on top of, so I suspect something's there. But nothing is stopping my enjoyment of running a successful zoo and partaking in the challenges as they come.

In short, if anyone thinks their play style is similar to what I just described, they'd do well to pick up this game and have a blast!

me and my boyfriend have nearly identical computers, he has reguar crashes and unloadable zoos, i dont, but i have serious fps drops that are making the game experience very disrupted. on top of that, in every zoo there is a different issue concerning money, in some zoos the feeding cost of the same animals are different by range. leading to financial disasters without knowing why f. e. same for refunding, the numbers seem to be wrong, if 5 unsatisfied guests demand hundred thousends of gld as refund it cant be right. the money sometimes become an issue, simply by reloading the zoo and disappear the same way. if that is a "challenging" intended game mechanic, then the game still needs more transperancy.

@AlexVonHumbug Hayo! Have you made two separate reports on the Issue Tracker with your different specs? If so, please link me to them!

my boyfriend reported it nearly dayly the last three weeks, via steam and/or the bug-window, that opens, when the crash happens. he got no reply.
That's great, the team will have received the feedback and will be looking into it already. However, the team have no way of actually responding unless you use the Issue Tracker - this is a major reason we ask people to post on our Issue Tracker, which our dev team can respond to, instead of sending telemetry. If you file a report, I can get that sent over to the dev team ASAP and they can look into this issue for you.

Forgive me, but your issue tracker is back logged. I've put in tickets several weeks ago that haven't been touched.

If your issue is that you cannot play the game, do you think someone wants to put in an issue tracker and wait a month before it's even looked at?
