HI guys and gals , its me Vampire , hope your holidays this time of year are going well.
I would like to bring up a subject that is rising to my attention , considering the fact that nobody knows the landscape as well as i do in the world of pvp , with respect to the time and hours I am in game.
There seems to be a growing threat to the standards of pvp as a whole in general . My philosophy regarding pvp is , it should be something based on common mutual grounds. Good sportsmanship , a fair and even fight regarding ship size and your opponents , and more specifically , the use of gimballed vs fixed weapons.
Now we can all say that , each is own , game play however you see fit , and if you cant beat it , get gud or better , adapt and adjust. Now one of the biggest lessons I have learned in my gaming past is , the teams that can learn how to adapt the fastest to a emerging threat , are the winners. This is true . Regardless , how it reflects on this game , in my opinion , is much different. I believe in the game of Elite Dangerous , especially for us xbox players who do not have the ability to fall back on third party programs to assist us in the ability to obtain godlike status for in game mechanics , we must up hold higher standards. This includes what type of weapons we use. Gimballed , turrented weapons are taxed via the amount of damage they do , which is the case , but they still offer enough damage that it can be a game changer due to the right circumstances not limited to , lag , frame rate , instance being jammed up by a full instance and inducing screen lag , being close to stations also introduces this. That alone effects how effective a weapon can be , especially in a circumstance when a fixed weapon is at play. In my honest opinion , the challenge , the skill needed to use a fixed weapon like a hit scan one such as a rail gun , or a plasma accelerator , brings necessary skill and challenge pvp should require to claim victory over your opponent , not a tracking mechanism thats assisting you.
There is a rapid increase of a certain build , very rapid. There is a skilled individual , that is well known in the pvp community that has crafted a build that necessarily does not reflect his ability but from a technical stand point does make sense in viability when you are in a bogged down instance where the frame rate is slow. This build is called the AceMamba build. It utilizes several different aspects to make it almost impossible to tackle. It has on its huge hp a burst or pulse laser , along with the two small hp. On the two large it uses two seeker missiles. Now , this is how it goes.
When you take fa off and toggle the thruster , automatically due to the mambas high speed , pitch and yaw rate , it becomes almost impossible to hit , even with hit scan weapons in a high traffic instance. Then , the lasers will lower your opponents shields faster than a kinetic based weapon , and being gimballed , no use for having to maintain a reticule lock head on . Once their shields are down you use the seekers to knock out whatever modules you see fit. Its a win win scenario .
The biggest issue here is , it technically exploits the problem with elite. When in wings , the instance becomes jammed up and a ship like this becomes impossible to deal with . Then second , guys and gals .... where are the standards within the pvp community to hold high and say , when I win , I can hold my head up high and say I accomplished this through hard work and determination of practice and time , which has gotten me here. All that is down the tubes...in my opinion again , the xbox community needs to hold themselves UP to higher standards than pc players , due to the tools that are widely used but no one talks about. I will post a link to this build incase you are not aware of it.
