Jurassic World Evolution: Return to Jurassic Park and Update 1.12 - What we know so far

another pet peeve i got is will the all/most JP buildings and features be "locked" to its respective campaign and sandbox only or will i be able to mix and match at my own free will? from what i have seen so far it is quite obviously apparent that frontier HAVE NOT learned from their mistakes from the Ghostbusters DLC of Planet Coaster which that makes me extremely disappointed and dissatisfied at their "progress". whoever is in charge of management at frontier (or whoever is calling the shots when it comes to game development, dlc, etc.) is clearly unintelligent or not "far-sighted" when it comes to versatility and flexibilty in the development of games.

I think Steggs or someone confirmee yesterday that they won't be mixeable.

Anyway, I personally got disappointed reading the new cosmetic genes info. No 1993 Gallimimus? Seriously? :(

Gotta say, the more I hear, the less interested I become... it's sounds a lot like more of the same. More of the same dinosaurs, more of the same missions, more of the same old park with exact same old building options. The one thing that really had me interested was new architectural options for a more varied park, but since you can't mix old with new you can't actually build a more varied park, you can only build Park A or Park B...

Honestly, what's really new in this bit of DLC that hasn't been present since the base game released over a year ago?

As soon as i saw bestinslot and gaming beaver post vids of early gameplay i DIDNT want to watch them because i knew I'd just be disappointed. I was right...

Positives: lots of new skins and skin color variants on the skins we're getting. (Tiger Raptors, purple compys?, green rex) awesome. The new buildings and fences we got look incredible. Everything done through the visitor centers sounds good to me. Damage to vehicles and them being repairable if they survive the encounter i love. Tranq from jeep and flares i love. That we at least get to place the raptors into the raptor pen in the campaign i love (hopefully we see a breakout from it). Red wood trees. Placeable lights and signs is so wonderful!!! And we get the genrao Rex bathroom as decoration to recreate our parks Thank You! New night vision for tours. Interchange tour gates and JP King Kong Gate i love. We see people sit in chairs for the 1st time! I love it! Geo thermal power is wonderful. Place a park entrance anywhere is wonderful.

Negatives: hints at breeding but wait...no breeding??? That is just wrong. Beaver said isla sorna doesnt have redwood trees on the map?!?!? Are you kidding me?? After they messed up the map in the oc they do it again? Beaver also said there are THREE mountains to take up space noting ppl didnt like the original because it took up space and he thought it was a poke at those that didn't like it... I would agree and think that's in poor taste.. Pteranadons dont do anything if they escape. Compys dont attack anything at all? Im sort of fine with this... But at least sick dinos or the little pachy species would make sense. Ummm the mesh for the compys serves no purpose??? It's just there to shut people up??? Compys wont escape from normal jw fences... So... You took what would be a great dynamic game function and made it only window dressing? Thanks alot... The number of JP buildings is small from what we've seen so far. No JP viewer variant... I get the tour is the focus.. But without mixing the era's no viewers is going to get old kinda fast.. It's like they want people to get bored. Classic goat feeder with rod for chain but there is no chain soooooo the goat will still run off miles away and we will never see the Rex on the track tour.. Ugh thanks... No ford explorer confirmed yet???? Don't do this to us... Dont tease us with a screen shot and leave us with just a jeep... Please.. It doesnt appear human rangers will be eaten they could be but i got a feeling it's just gonna be jeep explosion and that's it. No new dino behaviors or animations confirmed yet... Vid i saw had the brachi walking through a tree so im doubting they eat from trees (please prove me wrong). No InGen logo on helicopter. Also no green Dilophosaurus? 😥

Some other negatives for me was that the nublar map itself wasnt made to look like the JP movie.... No waterfall rocky area for us to place a helipad near, no nedry dilo waterfall area, no dilio-rex tunnel through mountain... I was hoping these areas would exist on the map. Maybe one day we'll get some type of scenery decoration of them. The map itself looked big though so that's a plus.

What we got on the way is still gonna be great compared to the game now. But it's not gonna be as epic as we thought after the trailer. Agh oh well...

I'm just so disappointed that frontier keeps making these weird choices with updates and DLC. Who would not understand that players will want to have sand texture on all islands and that players want to mix and match all the items they literally bought. That players would want to see the original Ford explorers in their jurrassic park park. I hope they will solve these issues with later updates of this DLC, but it's getting tiring that we have to complain and nah about these things each time for them to hopefully fix things that should be so obvious.

Look at the beginning of the very first trailer before the game got released. And watch the trex in the beginning of the trailer. Those must be rangers and one of em got eaten:)

So just by looking at the image you can see what looks like a ranger vehicle and one of em got eaten:D which means either when this free update comes out the rangers could get eaten or this will come later in another update/patch.

Someone did mention that the rangers should escape from a destroyed vehicle after an attack. Which I think is the icing on the cake! It adds to the reason why a T-rex would want to destroy a ranger vehicle. I would love this.

For those still concerned about the iconic tour vehicle, there are a couple of pieces evidence further supporting their inclusion. The first is a screenshot of the Park Tour building that players will have to construct when playing the campaign, challenge mode and sandbox; it’s worth noting that the Ford Explorer is used as the icon for this attraction.

The second piece of evidence comes from GameRiot's video. GameRiot was also present at the same event BestInslot and Gaming Beaver went, but he was the only one that both repaired and constructed the Park Tour. At 11:49 in the video, the icon for his mouse hovers over the gate through which the tour vehicles pass through and its default name is called “Explorer Gate 1”.

To sum it up, it would be very unusual for Frontier to have gone through the effort of creating the icon and naming the gate but not the vehicle on which they’re based on.

But why haven’t we seen the Ford Explorer yet?

I believe there are two theories to this question. The first being that in the dev build that the YouTubers played with, it simply wasn’t ready to be shown yet. The build itself was only a month old and did feature some unfinished features, BestInSlot reported the JP/// Male Velociraptor's skin wasn’t complete. Perhaps Frontier are currently using the Jeep as a placeholder and saving the Explorer for the DLC's release trailer.

The second theory is that perhaps when we start off the Return to Jurassic Park Campaign, the Park Tour doesn’t start off with the Ford Explorer but instead the Jeep Wrangler. As the campaign goes on, we’ll be able to research an upgrade for the Park Tour that replaces gas-powered Jeeps with the electric-powered, track running Fords. This is potentially supported by GameRiot's video at 12:43, where he rides the tour. During his brief ride, there is no electric track in the middle of the road and we hear the Jeep's engine sounds in the background.

In conclusion, I believe the Ford Explorer is definitely in this DLC.

It could be a surprise :D
Well, you may never know. After all, the animated cinematic announcement trailer is meant to be conceptual and not 100% accurate to the final release as with any other trailers I’ve seen that are like that. But we’ll see much later.
In regards to the second feature showcase about the ranger team jeeps, on the other hand, not only do I want to check out how the dinosaurs will attack them since the vehicles in the game currently aren’t really made for “script animation sequences”, I also want to test how the upcoming flares are really going work.

Same:) But they could still get eaten even if it's not in this update:)

I bought the game for that trailer, maybe in this update we can see this game mechanic, but knowing Frontier maybe they do it in a more arcade way and that would be dissapointing, i really hope to be wrong.

May I also add that in the announcement trailer, the electrical-track for the trackway is present, while it isn’t in the early gameplay footages by other YouTubers.

While I did see a minor but noticeable change in the Clair DLC trailer and photos (the color of the fog) from the full release of that DLC, I very much doubt the electric trackway was changed as well by cutting it out.

Based on the text, it is shown that dinosaurs will have the capability to destroy tour vehicles, with carnivores detecting vulnerable cars and direct themselves to attack the guests. If this is the case, then the tours has to be restarted by a ranger team due to damage by dinosaur attack.

Vehicular destruction therefore, is not limited to ranger teams, and the possibility that the gyrosphere would be the safest tour option for guests as it provides the most protection canonically. Hopefully we could test this out and see that if it is immune to dinosaur attack, would it then be breakable to the indominus rex, or genetically enhanced dinosaurs.

Awsome the news just keeps getting better by the day:D I wish it was December 10 now:)

From the recent livestream, the Ford Explorers are now officially confirmed to be the tour vehicle for Return to Jurassic Park.

Well we know the Ford Explorer vehicles are in the DLC. That's pretty much confirmed. From what I saw of them they looked pretty good. I didn't see any warning signs on the fences though. But what were shown is probably still an early build and not the final version. I guess they can always add them later.

Everything looked great and I wish they had shown more.

There were plenty of people against that idea.
