It took me over five min of reloading to get permission to dock. Why is this still a thing? There is a point that you are just being too real, and annoying the player. Please look into this. Thank you

Agreed, especially in Solo, this is just inane.
I mainly play in open. This happens in open all the time. They still block ports in Open just like PG and Solo. So TBH removing it will have no effect on the balance. Between the play modes.
If the NPC is already docked, request permission to dock twice and the NPC will launch and fly away. If they're still on approach to the pad, wait for them to land and do the same.
Requesting permission as soon as you're within 7.5km will almost always get you in before any incoming NPCs get a chance to make their own request.
The only time you may want to relog is if players are blocking all the pads.

When you approach a station, NPCs will also spawn and start requesting docking. You need to get within 7.5 kilometers pretty quick and request docking - it's not too difficult to beat the NPCs to the punch.
Otherwise, as other said, you can just keep making requests.

But that "engaging" doesn't sound grindy enough. That's not what happens at FD.

NPCs waking out is an old one, gets even worse with full repairs.
I've had some great fights while killing it on wing missions.
Ever since they gimped the payout on the will assassination missions, I've skipped them too. Not worth the extra effort anymore to get the same cash as a solo kill mission.
Yeah I stopped doing this because it can lead to a bug.

So just be careful not to spam the docking request button or you will screw your self.
My prob here is not being on the ball. As other users pointed out. I gots to stop sleeping on the dock time lolz. So as much as it pains me to say it. This is a me problem and not a game problem.
Fair point. You only need to request docking twice to force the NPC off the pad, so spamming should be avoided.
