(I find) PvP is boring...

Form what I gathered so far, people are lacking action, they want a game like CQB Arena, but with more ships, they want PEW PEW in space against a human player, they want space quake, of Battlefield in space. They want to sit down, have 1 hour, duke it out with humans in a tight quarter and pew pew. I understand that. But I just wish ED would be something else.
Its called Star Wars Battlefront :p
(I still love my A-wing)

Look, I can hardly undock, let alone fly a distance of 5 jumps without dying on open. Solo or private group is where the game comes alive.
Like someone pointed out, the game and systems are FULL of gankers. Looking hours for them, then I think you are in a session locked out of others. We are not all in the same session in open it seems.
ED needs to create something new for the gankers to do, and make ganking so hard and revolting that no one wants to attempt to do it.
Yes, I am a bit salty, for open is ALL about killing on sight. and this breaks the game. How about taking away insurance. You die, you loose the entire ship and all its engineered modules and no option to buy back that ship. you keep the wealth, but loose the ship.
Then let people duke it out for a while in open and come back in a year. Imagine interdicting someone, only to loose and have to go back and engineer all over again. and loose a 400.000.000 credit ship. no 20.000.000 credit buy back.

The most fun I have had in elite dangerous whilst defeated by another player, was when someone pirated my cargo.
I got interdicted, and asked to let my cargo go. I said no, and shooting started, I was asked again, and we had a discussion about it and ended up giving up half my load plus one unit over the half, to cover scratches. NOW that is good space interaction activity right there. I lost, but within a construct where I understand what the player is trying to gain. He was a pirate, and I got pirated. Fair. I loved that! Hated loosing my cargo, but loved the interaction between me and a random player.

ED give gankers something to do, or find a way to destroy their efforts to ruin open play!

Dude I gotta say it. Don't play open if you dont want unsolicited Pvp. It's that simple.

How about not trying to push that bull here. Its quite frankly stupid. Removing hunderd of hours of players time because you cant stand to lose in a game.

Open is the way it should be. Read this if you're stuggling with the understanding.

Ha! All the gankers are on PC! :p

I was going to give you a like, now I hope you get kos(in the game to clarify) for complying to a pirate in the game

Actually its not. Try leaving deciat and shin dez for 5 minutes and you will find its almost completely empty

Elite would gain with more balanced world, by which I mean strict C&P in PvP but also more in depth PVE environment, but as mentioned earlier in thread, need activities for PvP oriented players, ganking is out of boredom right now. Expanding CQC into arena with diffrent ship sizes and adding planetary assault would be nice Christmas gift from FD.

"elite is full of gankers'

Lol, maybe in 2 systems.

In this year (only open) I was ganked max 10 times (4 times in shin, 6 times during different CG's), I'm sure, that this is less than 1% of encountered players. If someone say, that this game is full of bad, crazy, evil gangers i can say only 1- we are playing in different games.
And, to be honest- other player is only real challenge, during combat with NPC with proper upgrades you have God Mode.

It's amazing how little situational awareness people have while playing this game.
Usually I'm no ganker but some days ago I was fooling around with two friends in Colonia in supercruise.
The two of them wanted gankers with millions in bounties.

We had two encounters.

Encounter 1:
A Krait jumps in. Dangerous CMDR. Ship fitted for combat.
Sees three winged combat ships in supercruise, two of them wanted, between the entry point and Jaques.
Continues on course without communication.
Gets interdicted by my wingmate, gets blown up by me (shame on me - I got a 5100 cr murder bounty and notoriety 1 for that ).
(after lots of time, he could've jumped out if he did the correct things right from the start - train this, although I agree against a wing it's very much luck)

Encounter 2:
A Krait jumps in. CMDR rank I don't know, but I've seen him before in Colonia. Ship fitted for combat I guess.
CMDR stays at the star, coms the wanted wing of three with a "Uh, is there some kind of toll?"
Gets no response, my wingmate advances on him.
CMDR jumps out.
I get a friend request. He coms me he can't stand against three g5'd ships, but will gladly try if his ship is fit.
I answer "it was wise to jump out"

One of those encounters was stupid, the other wasn't 😂

Any attempt to create a reliable, meaningful PvP feature in this game gets shot down by the segment of the community who doesn't want Fdev to spend any time or resources on anything purely PvP focused. So all we end up with is e-peen 1v1/wing fights and ganking... (with occasional piracy or CZ fights).

This is where we are, I don't expect it to change either. Fdev do not have the courage to go against the anti-PvP voices..
That is the end of it.

Agreed. Charging them 100% of the rebuy cost could be a start....across all their ED accounts on all platforms :ROFLMAO:

Perhaps allow players to enter a session on passive status, with a non PvP flag turned on by default. Flag would have a 10 min cool down to prevent player abuse. That would allow traders, explorers and other non PvP Cmnders to sucessfully exit the station and enter witch space some 2-3 systems away. So then any ganker violation of said flagged player (either by direct fire or passive-aggressive ramming) should flag the aggressor/griefer. If only FDev had capability to practically implement this in the game...

Only other alternative is to enter a dedicated PvE PG

Visited the Golconda for my first time earlier today in my exploration Mamba and was torpedoed just as I scanned the last log uplink...starting a fight that lasted 30 minutes before I was able to read them.

Certainly could have been bit boring for spectators when my CMDR was nailed with the second volley of torpedoes and had to withdraw for several minutes to repair and restore his shields. Still, despite some mechanisms that I don't particularly enjoy, I find encounters like these to be a fun, educational, and suitably organic.

Regarding the educational part, I always try to identify my mistakes and make an effort to correct them. In this particular case the ones that stood out were:

1. Being too stingy with my heatsinks early on...had I used them as I was kiting around the first salvo of torpedoes, they could have lost me as a target and perhaps even reacquired the launching vessel. I was trying to drag them into my opponent, but this was probably doomed to fail as long as they were still locked to me.
2. Not dumping all of my torpedoes in my first salvo. I was trying to avoid excess heat build up, but the first salvo was one torpedo short of knocking out the Cutter's shields.
3. Accidentally wasting my last two torpedoes. I had thought I was on a different firegroup, so that salvo was unintentional.
4. Not realizing my opponent still had torpedoes remaining and allowing myself to be hit by his second salvo.

No matter how the fight goes, or how bland it appears on the surface, there is always something to learn from it.
I enjoyed that vid profusely. I'm motivated to git gud with fixed beams after watching your vids, cmdr. Situational awareness, multitasking, flying skills, you have it all. Oh and I actually cheered when the other mamba finally joined in <fist pump>
