❄ Planet Zoo: Arctic Pack coming 17 December ❄

I am normally very excited to see these new content packs and would be willing to throw my money into whatever Frontier have to offer, but in this case I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed. I haven't managed to get much enjoyment out of the game so far as it just seems to lack that Frontier quality that we are so used to, and to be charging for such a thin content pack considering I'm submitting crash reports nearly every time I try to launch the game at this early stage is a bit of a slap in the face. Purchasing is entirely optional - yes, you'll just have to do more to persuade me to buy while the game is in the state it is in.

To those asking about penguins... I agree with Frontier's realism on that one ;)

Aww, no new exhibit animals? There are some fun arctic amphibians, I would love to see salamanders some day especially.

The new building theme looks lovely, I can’t wait to use it!

10$ is a fair price especially considering the free update that goes with it.

Most excited about the reindeer and Dall's sheep. We needed a deer and wild sheep/goat species in the game.
The polar bear is basically an expected species so it's good to have it in the game.
I hope it can dive/submerge though because that would be the behavior I'd love to see the most. Seeing polar bears swim and dive is so much fun when visiting zoos.
Don't really care about the Arctic wolf that much as the timber wolf is also a semi-arctic wolf subspecies. Would have prefered arctic fox.
I am a bit disappointed there's no bird (whooper swan, some sort of grouse) or exhibit animal (lemming) but can't have it all.

Another theme is also very welcome. Curious to see how all the building pieces look like.

As for the price...I have no idea what people think. Frontier is a company - they need to pay their employees AND make a profit because there are many additional costs for them (think of electricity, water, marketing...well anything that goes with running a company).

Company also cannot grow if they their costs and income is the same. Just look at it as your in game zoo. How would you add more animals if your costs are the same as income and you would make exactly zero cash? ;)

Considering that a cinema ticket price is almost the same and you get what? 2 hours of fun, why is waste of cash for potentionaly many more hours you will spend with the game? If it was only the 4 animals, then I would perhaps agree with you. But we are getting much more.

Prices for dlc will also grow as any other product. It is unrealistic to think they can keep the same prices for 10 years, if every cost increase.

No matter if it's worth or not, I think everyone has to figure that out for themselves, I don't understand the pricing. You converted for pound (or for dollar, depending what came first, but put 9,99 € there. 9,99€ are 8,45pounds. Why does EU have to pay more/most again?

I do not know much details about that, but It does not have to anything with Frontier. It is some stupid EU law that does that if I recall that correctly.

200 new building pieces, well thats a nice start - but I need more..many, many more.... 😉
o.k. just kidding, that Arctic pack sounds amazing I am so looking forward to it.
since i am a winterchild and love the freezing cold, i was a bit dissapointed to have a snowy biome, but not much to put into it.
I am realy excited about the upcoming DLC 😸

As a (more or less former) Sims player, who is known for critisizuing EA and their content strategy (loudly), you completly lost me when comparing this DLC with Sims 4 DLCs. Apples and Oranges to me. And besides, I agree with @inspectorgadget1 on this. The DLC does not only contain of 4 animals.
With everyone who thinks this DLC is not worth it's money, I agree to disagree.

Exactly this - Eight quid (under a tenner, for heaven's sake) for 4 animals, building sets and the scenarios - this is a perfectly resonable, if not a good, price. Can't help thinking there is purposeful grumpy disruption going on here, as opposed to genuine concern over the cost. Games don't get made for free, have a little respect and understanding for the people who make them and earn their living doing so.

As an aside, I'm an 'ex' Sims player too, precisely because I felt I was being gouged, and the game had lost it's charm. Even the prices in the sales are kind of laughably insulting. I fire up Sims 3 occasionally and it still kicks 4 into a cocked hat, imho.

Hooray for zoo building! \o/ :)

Wouldn't know. The Euro is IMO a weird currency.
I guess they think we mainland Europeans have more money to spare?

During the Sims 3 era I still played Sims 2 exclusively. I'm a rotational player and love micro-managing, so Sims 3 was very much not catered to my playstyle. I envy you for being happy with it though, I wish I was. ;) I stll love Sims 2, but playing it on a 4k monitor ruins it. I finally realize how old the graphic of this game is (and how old I am... gosh). :D
And Sims 4 is in its whole is an insult to me and toddler-gate started a war between players like me and EA. I'm just tired. I miss my good live simulation, but figured I probably never have one again, unless Frontier tries. (Not with Planco people though, please, I need a little more realistic people ;) )

There are days, when I'm sad about my hobby being destroyed by a company. But Planet Zoo gave me a new one and as a gamer, I feel whole again. Hooray for zoo building indeed! :)

I'm a little doubt here. So are these 2 new scenarios exclusively included in the Arctic pack DLC or it is in the December update?

Don't know, I just know that other (not all obv.)prices for products (aka games) definitely get converted. Even on Steam. If it's based on vat/ sales tax/turn over tax, then the pound value would not make much sense either, since f.e. the vat of the uk is at 20% while the one in Germany is 19%, and they aren't the same in other eu countries. I would just like to know why that is in case of a dlc

DLC. Without the DLC you can't play the scenario. The new animals play a major role in those scenario's.
